Pressing 'X' button does not close the app completely.

Closing the app via the 'X' button still has it showing up when you hover the pointer on the upper left corner as it always did.  Shouldn't the app be removed completely?

Hmm, thought I'd test this one. if you have the Task Manager open at the same time and hit 'X' it disappears from the 'Apps' list - which to me means it's been closed.

I'm wondering if what's shown by hovering in the top left corner is showing a 'history' rather than an actual 'what's running'?

Cheers,

They are in the left hand tasks lists as quick access to them in case you closed the app in error.

That doesn't make any sense... It should be an option to fully closed. It seems to me Stardock is unable to fully close the app and came up with this silly justification...

I looked into this more closely.  Even though the app appears on the left side after closing, it does not appear in Task Manager.  So it seems after you close the app it remains as a sort of recent programs type of thing.

See why what you said made no sense? I had already cleared up in the very first reply to the thread that the app is actually closing. What's shown when you hover in the top left corner is a history of what you had open, NOT what's currently running.

Well there should be an option to erase the history... If you are running a windows metro app then close the "history on the left side" the app is still running... It's weird

Thanks for the detailed explanation...

IMO once you close the app it should be removed from the strip (what is this called?) on the left side of the screen.  After all, Modern apps are supposed to be like desktop apps with MM.

This is my finding too.

I would rather the app closed after clicking the 'X'.

The app is closed, look in taskmanager.

But we can look into making it stay in the list optional.

I would also like to state that I think the app should fully close after clicking the 'X'.  As others have noted the app still appears on the Modern UI left hand "strip" after it has been closed by clicking the 'X'.  This is a problem that should be fixed.

Thank you.

Based on the feedback it looks like we should make it remaining in the list for ease of access an optional feature in future updates.

I think one of the issues is once you close it and than try to swipe in other apps the closed one pops back up as a swipe in app.  atleast for me it does.  So the optional removing from history is needed.   Thx

Thanks Neil.

Having it remaining on the left side is very confusing and I shouldn't have to keep checking my Task Manager to see if it is closed or not.

Will it be possible to get the apps working/showing in the ThumbnailLivePreview, like the normal desktop programs does?

Also, another small issue:
If I am running an modern app that is minimized in the taskbar it will popup automatic, if I fx close IE or another program on the desktop.
This is a little bit annoyed.

So far this has been a good feature for me.  I can see the most recent programs used and go back as needed. However, would be nice to an option not to do this.

Yeah, have to agree with the others. Closed should mean closed should mean closed. I don't expect to access the modernUI task list and see them there as I treat it exactly like the taskbar: apps there are "open" and truly closed would mean that they are not there.
