1920x1080 stretching

Is there a work around?

After a new PC build I always redownload and install GC2, what I still consider one of the best 4x games ever made. For the first time I'm running via HDMI directly into my HDTV and it's a very nice experience in Windows 7 I must say.

However in 1080p (1920x1080 @ 60Hz) for some reason this particular game is stretched. I searched for "widescreen" and found only one or two posts talking about this, with no resolution that I could find.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and my GPU is a GTX 660. Is this a problem inherent to my system, or the game? And in either case, is there a work around?

Thanks.

Ah, I'll just play in 1400x1050 lol.

Videos will stretch on widescreen resolutions just because they were only made for 4:3 resolutions. Everything else should scale normally.

Please open your debug.err file in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem. The location you'll find the debug.err in varies depending on which game you're playing:

Dread Lords: My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2
Dark Avatar: My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar
Twilight of the Arnor: My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor

Older versions may store the debug directly in the location the game is installed at.

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug will be erased and recreated for the new session.

Actually, that pretty much explains/solves my issue. It's only the videos that are stretched. I'm one of those who actually really liked the videos that play for events and so forth though, so it was a minor nuisance. The game runs great otherwise though. Nice to finally have a system I can turn everything up on lol.
