[Bug] Problem with grey fog display

I'm having issues when the game is supposed to be rendering anything 3D i'm assuming, which it just displays a grey fog for the character creation and map display. When i zoom out far enough the world map displays properly but that's almost completely zoomed out. Was wondering if there were any solutions to this issue? I looked through the forums and didn't notice anything off hand addressing my problem.

Running the game through fresh install on steam.

Laptop specs : Acer Aspire V3- 771G-6851, Intel core i5, 3210M 2.5GHz. Nvidia GeForce GT 640M. 6GB DDR3 Ram

Any help or direction towards an existing post with a solution is appreciated. Thank you in advance =)

I had the same problem. Here is how to solve it:

In your Catalyst (the configuration program for the Nvidia card) you have to look for the Anti-Aliasing section. That section will probably say something similar to "let the game control it" and you have to change to "DO NOT let the game control it".

I'm having exactly the same problem. Here's a screenshot to illustrate: http://i50.tinypic.com/1z6s7lu.jpg

Also, here's the contents of the debug.err log: http://pastebin.com/hpXvmtH3

I've tried changing the anti-aliasing settings in the Nvidia control panel (basically forcing anti-aliasing on/off from there), and from inside the game options menu too, but that's not fixed it. Has anyone got a fix?

Edit: I've reinstalled the game (I've got the steam version), and it seems to have fixed this issue for now. So I'm happy!

As I said before, I had the same problem, and it was kind of random. But once I forbid the game for controlling anti-aliasing it got solved.

A few things you can do to test the issue:

1. Disable Anti-aliasing in your options menu.

2. If that doesn't fix it load the game with the command prompt /nomultisample

Please let us know if the first, 2nd or neither option fixes it.  It seems like your video card doesnt support anti-aliasing.  The game is supposed to detect cards that cant do that, but the /nomultisample forces it to occur.  So if that fixes it we need to know what card you have so we can get it blocked.

Thank you for your help and I apologize for your inconvienance.
