Hi new to game running through a scenario that has the story base thing I have a quest from a khag who wants me to get him 15 bits of metal in exchange for the main crystal piece for the main questline. This is where my frustration begins ive been all over the map and cannot for the life of me find any metal my capital no matter what i do or click on appears to have 0 metal and 0 production points and no way of obtaining it from there so wth do i do? :(

Create an iron Mine. This produces metal.  If you don't have Iron Ore in your border, either expand to it (building an outpost will work) or if the only available ones are in someone else's borders, you can trade for it (diplomacy) or just kick their butts and claim the town that it's feeding.

He is playing the scenario, the rules are quite different in the scenario (Campaign).

I believe the iron-mine in the Scenario nr1 is close to your capital.

Yes, there is an iron mine close to the city. And if you had paid attention you would have caught the part where there is no production in the city, no option to trade and no way the claim other towns. Additionally, as part of the scenario rules, you can't move the town or train pioneers. As it happens, I'm having the exact same issue.  And I'm just as stuck as Zului, the quest description gives no information as to where to look for the metal and I've completed all the other quests I've been able to find and killed just about everything else on the map.

Took me a while but I found a solution. You must buy the buildings for more zone control by using rush. Then do the same with the mine.

Yup your supposed to focus on towns, and expand your ZOC, if your worried about the urxen and butchermen creeps you can kill their HQs and end the monster spawn.

Also, its only in the recent patch that the city doesn't have production, I do remember it having production when I played the campaign, so the bug is with the city's production.

I'm stuck on this too.

I'm new to the game. I've only played the tutorial and this far into the campaign so I have no idea what ZOC or rush are. I've cleared the whole map, bought the town hall and the monument in the city and I have no idea how I'm supposed to expand my boundaries to reach the mine without pioneers.

I'm pretty sure these concepts are covered in the tutorial.

ZOC

ZOC = Zone of Control, you will see the city borders representing your colours, this is the Zone of Control, every Resource within this Zone of Control you are able to upgrade to produce goods for your empire.

rush

Rushing is the term used for paying Gildar to instantly complete a building or anything else in your city's build queue. (See the first picture)

I recommend activating "Manual Improvement Placement" in the options, since it is pretty much "required" to reach it.

The metal deposit should be three tiles away from your starting settlement down and to the left, along the coast. If

1 2 3

4 5 6

7 8 9

represents the nine tiles in the third quadrant around your initial settlement, then the settlement is at #3 and the iron deposit is at #8. The line from #3 to #1 points in the direction of the upper-left corner of your screen, in the default view orientation.
