When I try to log on to the tournaments an error comes up telling me that my game is marked as a cheaters copy...I purchased the game from gamefly and downloaded it to my home pc.
You mean your save game receives cheat flags when you try to upload it to the Metaverse?
This is not an issue with your copy not being legit, but something in the save game itself which suggests that your game is not within the parameters required for the Metaverse: the Metaverse thinks you cheated during the game to artificially boost your scores.
There are several things that can set off a cheat flag, such as:
Having a mod active during the game (all mods need to be disabled). Customization of race configuration files etc. Not all configuration changes are illegal. Try resetting your game to the standard settings, and implement your changes one by one to figure out which set off the cheat detectors. One more important thing: finishing a game too fast (I believe before the 1st of April of the first game year) will also set off the cheat flag.
At which point do you get the error? When you start the game or when you submit the end score?
