Empire Tree - Hidden Label?

Hey all,

First post asking for modding help.  I'm currently in the process of redesigning the UI texturing for a mod I'm working on.  The backgrounds on the panels are translucent.  When I replaced the background texture of the Empire tree i discovered some labels sitting at the 0,0 screen co-ordinates that only show under certain conditions.

Those conditions are:

1. You have a planet expanded in the Empire tree

2. That planet has at least one capital ship in-system.

When the above two conditions are met, the name of the capital ship appears in the top left of the screen.  If you have multiple cases matching the above scenario, you end up with the names sitting on top of each other.

Does anyone know what these labels are?  Is there a way to either relocate them or shut them off?  Have I modified a file and caused this?

Any help greatly apprecidated.

Cheers,

OzWolf

Screenshot would probably help a lot here. Not sure exactly what you're seeing.

psy uploaded a screenshot for the patch that has it. Interesting as I asked him if he had that issue as well a while back and he said no. Look at the very top left.

Best to keep some kind of a backdrop behind the buttons, I am going to fix but it is not a high priority now. It's probably old code from the original empire tree that was never fixed as it was hidden from everyone but us UI guys.

Ok, thanks for the confirmation...looks like a fully opaque background might be the safest bet.  I'm with you myfist0...I reckon it's one of those things that was easier to hide than disable and is probably attached to some other generic in-game object.
