Ignorance isn't just bliss…it's Standard Operating Procedure… (election redux)

Elitist? Hell, Yes.

it’s the genius of the middle class, whose nationwide median income is about $42K, which, adjusted for inflation doesn't buy much more than it did decades ago.
They’re just getting by in this world of rising gas prices and maybe a kid in college… and despite this, these rubes vote as if, any minute now, they're suddenly gonna be making six times their current income.
So, in order to rabidly defend money they don’t have a snowball’s chance of making, they run screaming from the extra percent or so that the frighteningly rich are being asked to pay toward liberal/commie/socialist programs like healthcare and college tuition. These people must be the same great occasionally-washed who buy lottery tickets, a practice known among people who can do math as "paying the Stupidity Tax". They think a life of leisure and prosperity is just around the corner.
How does one respond to people who have bought the central bill-of-goods of the American Culture… the one that says every American with their nose to the grindstone and a concave back will reap the rewards due them and will retire in comfort and prosperity… yeah, right… despite gas prices that have been artificially low for years and produce that would cost five bucks a pound without illegal aliens to pick it.
Ding! Ding! Ding!… Message from common sense…If you have been making just enough to get by for the last decade-or-so, you ain’t gonna be a millionaire next week, next year or when you retire. Maybe you should stop behaving as if people who pay more in taxes than you make in a year are just a smidge better off…
They are, truth be told, in a class by themselves. A class to which, while the door is NOT locked, nobody is rolling out carpets to pamper the feet of the working class. There aren’t enough of you moving up to waste money on a carpet or even a doorman.
