How do I activate my game on steam?

I got Demigod back in 2009 and I now see it is on Steam. When I went to use my serial number to "activate a product on steam" It says invalid product code.

What should I do?

Demigod does not use Steamworks; the only way to obtain a Steam key is to purchase it from Steam. If you just want the overlay though, you should be able to add it to your list and launch it via Steam regardless.
