[eMOD] Urxen Witch [1.3 for 1.32] [Stormworld Compatible]

Adds a Henchman Unit to any Empire faction.

Urxen Witch 

[Trainable Henchman for any of the Empire Factions] 

"Sacrifice a large portion of your citizens to awaken a Witch of the Urxen. They cast Witchcraft magic and gain levels, use items and gain perks as champions. They start out with a Staff of Souls and a Adept Robe."

Urxen Witch : Urxen Witch Blood, Warlock, Brilliant and Witchcraft Apprentice. Items : Staff of Souls and Adept Robe. Henchman.

Requires Sorcery Tech. Cost : 40 Crystal, 200 Population. 

Tome of Witchcraft is unlocked by Sorcery Tech

Witchcraft Apprentice

Eldritch Dart
A dart of eldritch energy strikes the victim doing 2 (+0.5 per level) damage and reducing their Spell Resistance by 2.

Poison Coating
Enchanted unit's weapons does +1 (+1 per Death shard) poison damage.

Bewilder Foe
Victim has a 30% chance to swing at a random unit in melee instead of his target.

Hex
Target is unable to move for 2 turns unless they resist.

Witchcraft Diciple

Lifesteal
Transfers 4 hit points (+4 per death shard) from enemy unit to the caster.

Eldritch Bolt
A bolt of eldritch energy the victim doing 6 (+1 per level) damage and reducing their Spell Resistance by 5.

Nightshade
Heals target unit by 4 (+2 per Death shard).

Pluck Eye
Target enemy has one of his eyes disabled, resulting in a 30% penalty to Accuracy unless they resist.

Witchcraft Elder

Eldritch Blast
A blast of eldritch energy strikes the victims doing 12 (+2 per level) damage and reducing their Spell Resistance by 20.

Demonic Ally
Summons an Assassin Demon at the same level as the caster.

Recall
Teleports the caster, and their army, to your capital.

Witchcraft Master

Diablerie
Consume the lifeblood and soul of target to gain some of its power. Target champion is destroyed.

Polymorph [Demonic Aspect]
All allied units get +1 Attack per Level of the Caster for the rest of the battle.

Enslave Clouds
Target city produces 5% more food per Essence.

Witchcraft Grandmaster

Twisted Thrall
Take control of enemy unit [Twisted] unless they resist and keep them forever under your thrall.

Despair
Transfers 3 hit points per level from all enemies to the caster.

Call Child of Abeix
Calls forth a Child of Abeix from the depths, at the same level as the caster.

 

Tip : Use Steal Soul to gain Witchcraft for your Sov.

Let me ask a stupid question, if you have Lady Umber's Legacy 1.3 installed, should I ignore this as it doesn't contain anything that isn't already there?

yes :) but it should not cause any problems, under sorcery tech two identical urxen witches will appear thats all, and only for those who have Lady Umbers Legacy as their faction ability.

Edit: Ah, the unitmodeltype will cause problems with Reliquary.

Well, the only reason to use a unique modeltype that I can see is that you want the player to be able to design their own witches with and without apprentice witchcraft. If you instead made that trait mandatory (and gave it a standard modeltype) it'd be compatible as far as I can see.

Also change the Domination modifier to this (so "Loyal" units cannot be Dominated)

I made it so that Urxen Witches cannot be designed at all, just trained as is, but the urxen female modeltype i left in beliving i had to, what standard model type can i use  ? 

<UnitModelType>UrxenFemale</UnitModelType>  This is the conflicting model type right ? 

The domination change, will it affect vanillla gameplay ?

the problem i faced was that Urxen Witches did not show up under Sorcery Tech in any of the "Empire" like factions you made, perhaps because they are not "Empire" ?

You should use UrxenFemale since that is vanilla. Unit_UrxenWitch will cause problems with reliquary items.

Domination change will not affect anyone without SW installed.

I don't know what causes them to not unlock from Sorcery. My factions should count as Empire as much as vanilla factions.

Found the problem it was a prereq that i missed .. :) so now i belive its Stormworld compatible again .. not sure about the unitmodeltype, but i did å test and the witch was able to equip a Reliquary item .. so ill just cross my fingers and hope for the best

I just updated to the 1.29 beta and the Urxen Witch Mod crashes the game on load.  This is after removing all installed Mods and reinstalling with most current versions.  Not sure if anyone else is having this problem.

Pretty much the same.  Worked once, played a few turns, saved game, exited game, start program again, crash.

This is the process I use for Manually installing Mods

Extract the Rar/Zip file
In the Mods GFX folder, create a new folder with the mod name.  In this case I make a folder called UrxenWitch
Move the contents of the installing mod's gfx folder to the folder above
At the root of the FallenEnchantress/Mods folder create a folder name for the mod being installed if needed (in this case "UrxenWitch")

In your mod, also removed any spaces in the file/folder names, so what I end up with looks like the following;

My Games/FallenEnchantress/Mods          (pathing)

Mods-> UrxenWitch                               (contains mod file(s))
Mods-> Gfx-> UrxenWitch/                    (contains gfx file/folders)
Mods-> Gfx-> UrxenWitch/Effects           (seemed to be where this goes)

 

Compared to your previous version  (Lady Umber's Legacy), noticed you've drastically reduced the number of gfx icons and folders.  No folders for CoreIcons or DeathAdeptAbility, so assume these were removed purposely.

I will work on this mod when 1.30 is out, until then it is not compatible with 1.29+ betas.

Anyone have a idea for a lvl 1 Witchcraft spell ?, I want to get rid of summon ravager, its buggy and while im looking at some ideas, it would be great to get imput from the community

How about Evil Eye: Target Unit affected by the Evil Eye cannot move this turn.  Affected Unit may still use attack skills.

So adjacent enemy units could still be struck, Ranged Unit could still shoot/throw.  Would be useful in doing a short-term lockdown on a mounted unit or Champion.  Feels like a level 1 spell to me  =/

Updated to 1.3, but have not found a solution to make the mod compatible to 1.30, I have no clue why my mod should crash the game on loading a save game and not crash it on making a new game, think i need help on this one to solve it :(

Hi again tamides, i downloaded this mod to try it out and found a bug.

Was creating my faction anew to try the new version of lady umber gift's and installed both your other mods(urxen witch and elder sion) and when i was creating my sov with death magic i noticed you can have access to all witchcraft levels all the way to grandmaster and they all cost 2 points, i don't think this was intended xD.

By the way i disabled stormworld to test the other mod so the only mods im using besides yours are add factions and races v2 and snaking.
