I know you have heard this a thousand times....but it's must be your drivers.

Video.

Sound.

Motherboard (BIOS)

Chipset Drivers

I'm using an AMD Phenom (Deneb) 4 core o/c 4.1GHz

8 GB RAM

Windows 7 64-Bit

ATI 7870 Video Card (using 12.11 Beta)

OB Realtek Sound ALC892 Codec

FE runs like a champ without any crashes or issues to report.

I like your computer.

I'll get one of the devs to checkout your logs today and see if they can offer any insight.  In the meantime please try to update to 1.2 and see if any of the fixes included in it help.

Hi, I'm "one of the devs" :).

Like Derek said, I would try updating to 1.2 before playing again to make sure your crashes aren't caused by something we've already addressed. However, if you update and still get the crashes, it would be the most helpful to get the dump files that are generated in addition to the debug.err files.  I looked through your debug files and only one of them showed something that would cause a crash, which I will look into.  But since this doesn't seem to be what was causing even most of your crashes, it would be helpful to get more info so we can solve the problem.

When your game crashes, before starting the game back up again, there should be a dump file generated in C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - Fallen Enchantress, or wherever you installed the game.  If you could send us that information instead of the debug.err (which should be included already), it'll give us more specific information.

I have updated to 1.2 and playing my 1st game so far everything is ok. In my save game I posted here there was a NPC that I would go to change the armor on it and it would crash at that spot. So far I have not had that in 1.2. Thanks for your help. I'll keep you posted if anything comes up.

cheers

Darn I spook to soon. Just happened. I looked in the 'C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - Fallen Enchantress' folder but I did not see what to send you. I am going to zip the hole thing up so you can have a look.

Ms. Raa00 is out today (watching some crazy car iditarod in northern MI).  But I've sent her a link to check this out when she gets back.

You wouldn't happen to be in northern Europe would you?  We had some issues with the computer using commas instead of periods for decimal points that that caused a few issues and we have been stamping them out if we find them.  I don't know if that could be contributing to your issue or not.

I thought this game wasn't optimized for 64bit? Did you sneak in a fix while I wasn't looking?

I am in Canada. I completed my 1st game in v1.2 with only the one crash. I'll let you know how the next game turns out.

Hi all.

Well, I have to say that my game (since the new update 1.12) CTDs a lot... and I mean a lot.  It was running smoothly before the update.  :(  Not sure what's changed. What should I post in here? DXDiag? Some crash log? Or should I post it someplace else? Or E-Mail it somewhere? Please advise.

Thank You,

Marc

@DarkSybarite

How did you get the zip file name with date and time? I use winrar does it do it or do I have to use something else?

cheers

DarkSybarite, I don't see anything that stands out in your debug.err or your dump file, so I'd just try some general things to see if you can get past the loading screen.  Try renaming your Prefs.ini file in Documents\My Games\FallenEnchantress, and deleting your Data.zip in [your installed FE folder]/data (e.g. C:/Program Files(x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Elemental Fallen Enchantress/data/Data.zip, or C:/Program Files(x86)/Stardock Games).  This should make sure there aren't any unsupported prefs or data hanging around from previous versions keeping the game from loading.  In case there's something wrong with the title screen or something, you can go into C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - Fallen Enchantress and delete the Screens folder, and that will regenerate with the local data as well.  I'd also try verifying your Steam install (if you downloaded from Steam).  Hopefully one of these things resolves the problem for you.

The zip file that DarkSybarite linked to is the zipped-up dump report that I was hoping your computer was generating on your crashes.  However, the folder you zipped up does look like the correct location, but they definitely aren't there :/.

The debug.err from your 1.2 game does seem to crash in the same way one of your 1.12 games did.  Without the dump, I tried to guess what caused the problem and fixed what could have potentially been the problem, but I guess it wasn't :P.  Since your computer doesn't like saving dump files apparently, if you get a crash again, keep sending us the debug.err like you have been, and your most recent save as well, since it may be a late-game AI thing causing the crash.  And keep checking for a dump file just in case.

@Raa00 no luck  #:( . Guess I will try re instilling.

@MuLaFlaga that is how they are saved on my pc, I did not change the name.

I'd be interested in knowing how many players are getting CTD's with Nvidia cards vs ATI/RAEDON cards? Could be a pattern that something is wrong with Nvidia cards and this game. :)

Game #2 I was able to play through with out any problems. I did find the spider that did not have the correct pic. Now playing game #3.
