Gave Away My iPad

Last night I was in a place I stop in semi-regularly and the young bartender, a kid really, at some point mentioned how she would like to have an iPad but can't afford one. Since I bought my Surface tablet I haven't touched my iPad at all.

While I was outside having a smoke I got to thinking about that and walked out to my truck, grabbed my iPad and it's charger, did an erase and reset on it while I finished my smoke, and carried back inside with me. I showed it to her, complete with leather folio case, and told her I had reset it like new.

I then shoved it across the bar and said "Here, it's yours".

I was a little bit amused by the fact that her eyes got really wide and she was totally speechless. After a minute a friend of hers nudged her and, like some small child, suggested "thank you" would be appropriate.

I just told her to consider it her tip.

I wasn't using it anyway, it's a first generation iPad and doesn't even get updates anymore. But it does work and is better than nothing.  I just like my Surface a lot better.

Hopefully she will get some enjoyment out of it.
