Can not start the game.

Hello, I have dowlnoaded the game from Steam, but when I launch it, I get Unknown error. I tried on second PC, and there a Stardock pop up window showed. But on my main PC, it does not work. Any advice would be welocme. Thanks.

Is the error a Steam dialog or from the game? Is a debug.err file created in My Documents\My Games\FallenEnchantress?

Steam error. It tells running GDF_Fallen_Enchantress_Install.exe and then this error message in the Steam window. No err file in the directory (as it is not a game error it seems).

Might be a bad download--try verifying the local cache (local files section of the game properties in Steam). Failing that, please contact [email protected].

Tried a reinstall with the same result. It seems that, for some reason, the Star dock log in page does not show up. I sent an email to support.

Check the process table and see if the game is stuck running. If so, terminate it.

After that, open up a CMD prompt, CD to the directory with the FallenEnchantress.exe, and run it by command line,

If that doesn't work, probably a bad download.

Thanks, will try. About time to refresh my knowledge of DOS commands :)

O.K. I have tried with no luck. Unfortunatelly, the message is in Czech :(

I had a similar problem with steam and Fallen Enchantress, and solved it. I went to Fallen Enchantress's installation folder and created a shortcut from it's .exe in the desktop. Then I right clicked and selected to run as admin. So i use this shortcut instead of steam's, and it always works.

I use windows 7 32 bits, if it's relevant.

Thanks, will try, but I have UAC turned off (never understood this feature, it is my PC and I AM the admin ffs).

I have the same problem as Killer. Running GDF_Fallen_Enchantress_Install.exe and then this error message in the Steam window.

Windows XP SP3 32-bit.

Any suggestions?
