How do you start a game?

Hey Everyone,

I'm still a beginner, I just got the game two days ago. When I first started up my game after playing the tutorials, I realized I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing. I wasn't sure how to start, and now, two hours into the game, my easy difficulty enemy has five planets, and I have one. So I just need to know what I'm supposed to do. I was also getting used to everything, so it took me time to read the descriptions of all the ships and technology, etc.

focus on getting more planets (use Colony frigates to do this)... other than that, play around. Pause is your Friend. There are a number of posts on this forum about specific strategies or factions, so look around.

It should be obvious, but you win by wiping out the enemy.

Yeah, it's going to take you a while just to do that. But you can pause the game when you need to read something or look something up, you don't want to give the AI a lot of time when you're just sitting at your homeworld.
