My gaming group will be playing on Friday June 7th from 10pm EST -> Whenever we pass out

If you want in on the action, simply be on around that time and I'll invite you to our mumble server and we get can some Demigod games going. (it wouldn't hurt to download and configure mumble in advance, so all we need to do is send you server and password)

This is casual fun... skill range varies but we try to balance teams. (so don't be a smurf and throw us off... Pacov [aka BobtheBuilder] :D)

We also play with Pacov's mod package so download and install (that is all you need to do since host enables/disables mods, all that matters is that you have them)

As an anti-demigod, demigod? Certainly I can agree.

As a support Demigod for 3v3 and higher games, I'd say she can do alot of things that will surprise most players who have written her off.

Most definitely this needs to get fixed.
I tried a few wonky things that never really made it work.

eg: Invisible chain "lightning" that shot across the map plaguing units intermittently. (there is an area of effect limit, I can't remember what it is, but it's about a 1/4 of cataract)

Nothing really made a difference in performance.

I'd also like to make post mortem the level 15 ability (aligning with Reg and DA and preventing UB from rampaging and nullifying against an early priest rush) with plague 1 and 2 coming 1st in the tree for last hitting for gold across the map.

If you can make it work so it doesn't kill the game's sim speed, that would be great and worthy of some new builds. (put the fix in uberfix and the skill change in balance mod)

Pacov's thread inspired me, so I finally got around to trying out LoL. The entire continuing validity of last hitting as a viable gaming mechanic pissed me off, so I came back to check out how Demigod is doing. I saw your Demigod night, and thought why not, which brought me here. Then I reread up on the Uberfix and saw that miriyaka lost interest is finishing out the Plague fix, which got me thinking.

Miriyaka's proposed solution seemed to be valid.

Right now:
10/15 damage per interval
1 second interval
10 infection radius
1 second infection interval
30 seconds
10dps * 30 = 300
15dps * 30 = 450
Total 30 damage intervals, 30 infection intervals

Projected:
20/30 damage per interval
1 second damage interval
7 infection radius
2 second infection interval
15 seconds
20dps * 15 = 300
30dps * 15 = 450
Total 15 damage intervals, 7 infection intervals

 

This should result in less than 25% of the sim work that the original was doing, as the actual damage part is very simple.  To put the infection checks into relative terms, the current checks are covering 9500 square units per infectee over the lifetime of the plague.  The reduced check time and radius above would cover only 1000 square units per infectee.

Infection will be less rampant, though still more than enough to easily infect entire creep waves in seconds.  The moderately increased damage per second should make up for this, while still being well within reasonable thresholds for Demigods at level 10 and 15.


Another alternative that came to mind was simply reducing the number of spreading checks. Once it spreads, it will hit everything close. It doesn't really need to spread until the next creep wave hits. So instead of checking every second, perhaps only check 3 times at 0,15, & 30 seconds (or just at start & death). This would drop the number of checks by 90%.

Anyone recall if Miriyaka every tried the fix out and what came of it?

Also, I'm trying to figure out if I can join you guys that night. (Plus get Demigod reinstalled and functional.)

Looking at the abilities

Plague does 15/30 damage per tick for 30 seconds.

Plague infects friendlies with 10.

 

Plague gives an immunity if you live through it for a few minutes.

Post Mortem makes you blow up if you die dealing 150 damage to friendlies within 6.

Post Mortem makes you blow up if you die dealing 8 meta to everything within 3, I think this insta-gibs minions.

Post Mortem lasts for 30 seconds after the last UB hit.

So I just spent the last 3 hours trying to reinstall Demigod. Obviously (heh), I had kept all of my modding files and my collection of demigod data patches, but I had uninstalled the game a while ago to free up space. So installing it should have been straight forward. However, I had forgotten I had some old logitech camera drivers installed, which I had to uninstall for Demigod to work. Goodness that annoys me. Anyway, let's see what we can do with this old gal.

 

Blast. Finally got the game working and now my video drivers are all wacky.
