Custom tech tree

Hi, I want to create my own tech tree. I found an tech tree editor here, but i can´t download it, because the file was deleted and I could not find any tutorial how to do it. So my question is, how to create my own tech tree?

You must have confused VI with Nano there.

Definitely not a real man if you don't know what VI is!

Well if Eclipse is experienced, and notepad is virgin, VI must be blow doll.

That said, Goa was able to massively simplify some super secret stuff through Eclipse I think, so it definitely has its uses.

The thing that did most of the work was a script I wrote, but it did definitely help be find the isolated little errors the script missed. So yes it does.

I designed and developed my own scripting language in C++. What you did was write a couple of programs that manipulated files. Sounds like sissy stuff to me.

untill  you wimps actually code in MACHINE CODE you are all tiny little sissies, and I was WRITING machine code programs back in the early 80's, and the only programmers I look up to are the ones that programmed using binary switches on the programming panels of the early computers.

It's pretty safe to say you mod with VI then.

DOS huh? VI is actually older and was more expressive than a line by line pseudo editor in DOS.

actually it came from CPM (Control Program for Microprocessors)and also even earlier mainframe operating systems, and the copy is NOT to edit files but to CREATE/copy the files from one location to another.

for text file editing I use a small line based text editor that I wrote in 1980 as a(at the time) mid-level word processor that was actually written in 'l2 rom basic' for a trs80 and used ideas from many different programs for the features that I had included in it.

Yeah?  Well Notepad came from stone tablets rumored to be held by Moses himself...and if a bearded man who talks to burning bushes and walks with a cane that turns into snakes isn't the manliest thing ever, then all hope is lost for us.....

Well I assumed you meant the ability to create a file line by line with the previous command you posted. w/e I guess.

I started writing my first programs on a similar setup, though I was only 12 at the time.

Why are people proud of using inefficient methods to complete tasks?

Same reason people buy antiques...because they are antiques... :P

Ok, so I have a question which I still can not find an answer to.

I want the ability to research both the titans for the TEC.

I've already modified the files so they both show up on the titan build menu.  Modified the file that both titan factories can be shown.

But I don't know how to add both to the Research tree.

Any thoughts?

This is mainly for my son and I.

We made some other changes as well, like the cost of capital ships is reduced, the number of capital ships has been increased, the number of starbases certain planets can have has been increased.  Just want to see if we can have both the titans.

Strictly for home use right now.

Thanks

John
