This mod adds armored militia to defend your cities. Their armor is 1 tech weaker than the current tech. That is

If you researched Armor militia gets some leather armor (archers get vambraces only)

If you researched Heavy Armor militia get some chainmail (light plate appropriately) and Archers get a more full set of leather armor (with chain / light plate vambraces)

I have set up the city militia to not get a full set covering their body, just chest greaves and boots

archers get vambraces and a helmet instead of greaves.

One question, though, Parrotmath.

When you say "This mod adds armored militia to defend you cities." : do you mean the AI won't use it ?

I don't know why the AI would not be able to use these armored city defenders but I prefer asking - considering that I'm more trying to improve the defence of the AIs cities than mine.

The AI can and will use this automatically as it is not dependent on actually equipping the Militia.  This functions the same as the way militia weapons auto upgrade to the best weapon you have researched that they are able to wield.

Unfortunately, I was in the middle of updating some of the graphics before I put it on WinCustomize, then life got into the way (sorry about that). The mod is horribly unbalanced in terms of the environment as a dragon tried to take one of my cities with this mod on and I won the battle with just the militia (it wasn't a tough fight either).

If there are any suggestions on making this mod more balanced in terms of the environment let me know and I'll see if I can implement the changes. I'll also try to update some of the graphic pictures for the armor, just takes a lot of time that I don't have right now.

With all the work you have done on FE modding, you still find the time and the patience to write a cool and open minded answer !! I do apologize for grumbling yesterday :blush:

I wouldn't have bet a cent on the militia defending the city against a dragon ! It is indeed unbalanced, but I think I will still love it when my juggernauts will meet AI's militia.

When I made a version of this I just used the chest item for my militia.  It made them stronger but not overpowered.  So the most powerful militia would be light plate with whatever weapons tech allowed.

I can make them look like they are decked out in more armor, but only give the armor value rating of a usual chest piece of the equivalent item. I think that will work out neatly and make them look more armored, but not the same as trained troops with the same looking armor. I'll see about making that change.

I'm in the process of updating all the mods. There will be a few changes to the armor, since they have some padded armor types. I'll also adjust some of the numbers to make this less overpowered to roaming creatures.
