Custom Faction Back Story.

Hello.

 

Just a quick question really, any time I make a custom faction and leader, I create the back story for each however upon selecting said faction, the story I have written is no longer their and the same for my custom leader, the story appears when i click the units portrait however on the initial game start up, with the fallen enchantress book, it still displays the mining story.

 

Anybody know how to resolve this issue?

It's a bug... If you add in your .xml file of your unit sovereign... there you see a <backstory></backstory>. This is where your story is... add

<LorebookIntroText>What you will see in your book</LorebookIntroText>

It should show up for you there.

I am viewing the XML file, I see the back story section, their is no Lore intro section on the XML file and I am not able to add to the XML file either.

 

Any tips?

You should be able to add it to the xml file... right click on the file and click on edit (it opens notepad). Then add the line

<LorebookIntroText>...</LorebookIntroText>

edit: You can also open the xml file through notepad on your computer and add those lines to it.

On my Windows 7 computer, I had to do it a little bit different; there were two files to change.

Under the Documents\My Games\FallenEnchantress\Units folder, I edited the file named after my custom sovereign. I moved my original back story (which had been saved but didn't show up in game) from <BackStory>...</BackStory> to <LorebookIntroText>...</LorebookIntroText> (having to create the latter <> entry as parrottmath suggested). Instead, you could probably just twice change "BackStory" to "LorebookIntroText," but I didn't try that.

Under Documents\My Games\FallenEnchantress\Race folder, I edited the file named after my custom faction. I edited the text between <Description>...</Description>.

Everything now shows up where it's supposed to.
