How to Edit a windowblinds skin?

Today I've tried to edit some windowblinds skins by extracting them and edit the textures. I've made a few changes I wanted to and repacked the files as a ".wba". Then I opened it with windowblinds but it appeared as the same as before :S Can someone help? I don't know what I did wrong :(

You can change a lot without going into Skinstudio at all. First you have to go into the skin itself. On win7: My Computer, C drive, Users, Public, Public Documents, Stardock, Windowblinds. Open the skin you want to fiddle with. There will be all the parts to the skin there. You'll need a graphics program that opens TGA files and Bitmap files. What I do is make a folder in My Documents and name it for the skin I am playing with. I copy the part of the skin that I am changing into that folder so I always have the original in case things go bad. Whatever I change I put into the original folder for the skin. When you want to see how the change looks you have to re apply the skin.

I use Skinstudio sometimes too. Bottom line is that you have to play with this a lot and don't be afraid to make mistakes. As I said it's good to make copies of the original files.

I can't see anything like SkinStudio at the link you posted. Not even in MyDownloads.

After installation it says: "Please check that the SkiStudio7 folder is in your skins folder. If you moved your WindowBlinds skins folder then you will need to relocate this folder too."

O__o

What? I've never had any folder called "skins" in windowblinds anywhere. What can I do to get it working?

the skinstudio7 folder is located within the windowblinds folder. When you make something and save that into a .wba package this is where that file is saved to.

just a suggestion; open the windowblind that you want to change and save it by some other name.

you don't need to create a .wba package to view your changes, just click on the save button and then apply button from within skinstudio.

Are you using the trial version of WindowBlinds or the paid version. Where did you download WindowBlinds from?

You may want to start a trouble ticket by sending an email to [email protected] on your issues with skinstudio7.

I'm using the trial version. I can't afford the complete version. And I downloaded the program from it's own site.

Finally it reacts to the changes I make in the texture files. But no the best... The colors change as I want them to, but a lot of the textures became invisible. What program do you use to edit the tga files correctly? (I used Pain.net)
