Why were Urxen & Capitar dropped?

Hi all,

Never played the beta but my understanding is that Capitar (Carrodus) and Umber (Kul-Al-Kan) Sovereigns existed there an were dropped just prior to release.

Just curious if anyone can tell me why they haven't been included?

Thanks.

It was an excuse for you to mess around with the create a sov function, both factions are still in the game.

There is the source code for the two faction leaders if you want to add them in, you will need to edit it them though.

They said they want more of "detail" faction, that's why they drop, but they could changed mind and spend more time working of more "detail"

Those were the days of meaningful change logs. <3

It's fairly easy to go into the CoreUnits.XML and turn both General Carrodu and Kul-Al-Kulan back into Sovereigns of their respective factions.  Capitar does seem a bit OP however - but nothing wrong with that in a single player game!

Its the worst decision in the whole beta. BRING UMBER BACK! Umber were just too badass for Stardock to handle.

here was the reasoning:

this happened a while back, as you'll see

Shame, that's a pretty poor reason.  not too worry i don't use the out of the box Sov's anyway personally... was just curious.

Thanks for the response all.

Edit...

Actually just thought I might clarify.. when I said "poor reason", what I mean is, the traits and background and everything were done and it seems they were actually fleshed out pretty well so it's a bit of a shame they got dropped.  But anyways all good, love the game, love the ability to create faction/sovs/units.  Thanks Stardock.
