Random character option

Sorry, I posted this is the main FE forum, but it probably should have gone here as a Wishlist request:
Is there a way to create new games with a random character/sovereign? (That was always my favourite way to play Civ IV - to not know which race and leader I was going to get until the game started.) I really appreciate that so many other variables can be set to "Random" - it makes it unpredictable and more exciting. 
If this isn't currently possible, could it please be added in a future patch or mod?
