beginner assitance

I have been playing the thalan getting a hang of the game but through the research I cant seem to unlock anything but laser based ships?  Ive researched missiles and such and ive made my own missile ship design but I cant seem to figure out what I'm missing.  Any thoughts?

If you mean auto-designed missile ships, you want to use the Focus button in the shipyard and pull the slider for missile weapons all the way over to the right and the slider for laser weapons all the way to the left.

I presume this Q relates to ToA, rather than DL or DA.

The game has been issued in three different versions:

 - Dread Lords (DL)

- Dark Avatar (DA)

- Twilight of the Arnor (TA or ToA)

I played DL and still play DA.  I have not purchased TA, so I could not help you if the game you are playing is TA where it differs from the earlier versions.  It sounds like that is the case.

Or you are not properly saving the ship? Click save, change the name if you want and confirm.
