Independent/third party Candidates Needed

Apologies if this topic has been brought up multiple times before, but as someone who has played the previous two games in the series I was hoping that this third iteration would have an option for independent/custom party candidates.  Obviously it doesn't, which is a shame.

Of course independent/third party candidates usually end up with around 1% of the vote and thus typically aren't very important, but every now and then they can play a pivotal role.  Nader's impressive showing in 1992 is a good example of this, but an even better example is the 1912 election.  Teddy Roosevelt, running as the Progressive Party's candidate, came in 2nd place, beating the Republican candidate in the popular and electoral vote.

It would also be fun (and challenging) to create a hypothetical candidate with whatever party you desire.

In short, the game's depth, replay value and historical accuracy would all benefit from the inclusion of independent/third party candidates.

Creating your own characteres is central to the game.  YOu can also download user-created candidates from https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/political_candidates

I already knew that, the problem is that all of the custom characters have to be either a Republican or a Democrat, and there's no possibility of a three way race.  For example, I can't create a Teddy Roosevelt character who is a member of the Progressive Party to compete against a Republican and Democratic candidate.

Ah.  Yes.  You can create characters that have the characteristics of an independent candidate, and you can even edit the background symbol to not be  a ass or an elephant, but the game does not allow for three parties to run against each other [much like in the real world.  GRRRRR!!].
