[1.0.1] Wildlands description screen

When you step into a new wild land, there is a pretty screen that appears with a description of the wildland.  I am actually quite a fast reader, but I find myself, perhaps because I am admiring the screen, not being able to read the text that appears before the screen disappears.  My first suggestion would be to make this screen stay up until the user clicks, but if you don't do that at least it should stay up for a little longer.

Yeah these disappear way too fast. Even just skimming the text I can barely get to the end of it before it's gone.

definitely agreed, these screens are there for far too short a time. I've learned that you have to choose between image and text. i like to know what's going on, so i read the text asap, and usually don't have time to even glance at the awesome artwork after i'm done with that.

Agreed. They originally stayed on, just like the screen when you settle your first city. No idea why they changed it.

Yeah, it should go away with a click. Not enough time to read.

I'd prefer if there was a button we had to press to remove it. It is far too easy to accidentally click on the screen when it appears.

A little tiny button hidden somewhere in the artwork.

I can not see the picture (and the picture when founding first city). These screens showed the text, but no pictures :( I don't know if this is a problem with my graphic card or else, but other visual is okay.

Just bumping this, as people are still posting about this problem in 1.0.2.

A confirmation button is a good idea.  That way, you can't claim "I missed it!" when you actually had to search out a means to close the thing.

press alt so you can at least read the text before it kicks you out of these screens.

Issues like this make you wonder if the coders & designers ever play the game.  for example, how come there is no 'next' button to press so you can scroll through all of your active units?  And how come there's no 'center' button to center the screen on the active unit?  And there are numerous places where the text disappears way too quickly.

One of the reasons that I purchased this game is because they had the same development team that did Galactic Civilizations, which is my favorite game of all time.  There are hundreds of little programming nuances in GalCiv that are missing in FE.  If it's the same programming team, why?

Press 'tab' for the next active unit.

It was a different programming team for the initial design of FE and the old team came on to fix-up FE.

There are several things that need to be super-polished for the game. It took severall iterations to get Galactic Civ up to speed to where it is at right now. Of course I'm not trying to defend this aspect, I think there are a lot of things that need to be added to get this game good. I'm waiting for that major patch that will hopefully add a lot of these things into the game.

Clicking their icon in the left hand assets scrolly thing should center in on the unit (IIRC). I have no problem with the strategic zoom to find units. Its pretty easy to give them their move orders from paper scroll screen too.

Also I don't think it disappears all that fast as far as reading is concerned. If anything a "Continue" and "Replay" buttons should be added. More time to look at the artworks :P.

I agree with OP. Screen disappears too fast, and sometimes by mistale clicking. +1 for a "continue" button
