Is there any way to get this running in Windows 8? The screen just flashes black and then back to the desktop. It worked fine when I tried it last yeat in Windows 7. Also the stardock registration will not let me sign in, it just stays on the spinning blue thing forever. Is the why it wont load? some form of drm kicking in?
I have yet to try WoM on my Windows 8 machine (since it's my work machine), but I would try browsing to your your Elemental install directory, and right click on elemental.exe and select Troubleshoot Compatibility. I've found that seems to work for all of my legacy software on Windows 8 so far, but again it hasn't been any games, it's been for my work applications.
Download, extract, and replace the sdactivate.exe in the WoM directory with the updated version in http://sd.stardock.com/sdactivate_win8.zip. I need to get updates packaged for a couple of games with that changed for Windows 8, but this'll do for this week.
