Detsle, sorry. I thought you had Windows 7.

Also: The command must be typed:  sfc /scannow  not the way I originally put in (yep, I make mistakes too) and which I corrected - the wrong way is in the quote in the response you made to my reply.

If you have problems running sfc /scannow , try doing this:

Turn the computer on (from a "cold" start) and continually tap the F8 Key; this will bring you to a Menu with a number of listings, including Safe Mode; select this.

Once Safe Mode is running, go Start > Run > type in the box sfc /scannow, and insert the Windows CD (hold the Shift key down to prevent it from starting) > Ok.
(Please note the spaces in the command prompt.)
A small pane will appear on the screen running the sfc.
Naturally you will not be able to anything on the computer while its running, so be patient, as it will take anything up to 45 minutes to complete.
During the scan you might get a message box asking to Insert the CD, just click Retry, and allow sfc to do its thing. Once the scan is complete, reboot the computer normally.

What do you think?

I made it easier, is parallel to a computer, too, put on Windows XP WindowBlinds, the system is clean.
And, too, the same pattern, although I have not activated the copy WindowBlinds, he did not show skins.
Have any other ideas?
Maybe this is due to the fact that the path of My Documents, Set Russian? As before in WindowBlinds, the system did not work podskinov while in registers readily not change the path.

Detsle... I honestly don't know what to think.

I believe you should write to [email protected] and please add "Attention Neil Banfield", since he did make a reply on the thread and there just isn't anyone who knows more about the program than him. Make sure you add the url of this thread.

You'll receive an "auto-reply". If you don't see it withing 24 hours, please check your "spam/junk" email folders. Save that auto-reply because it has your ticket number, and that's important.

Don't write again until you get an email from an actual person. If you do, your original email will get put at the end of the response line.

I'm really sorry I couldn't help you. You seem to be a very reasonable and polite person, and those people are just a real pleasure to deal with.

I wish you the best of good luck solving your problem. I think you'll find real help from Support... they're really good people and they do want to help. If they try and can't for some technical reason, you would qualify for a refund, and they'll help with that, too.

Thank you wrote them in those. support with a note.
And during what time they are likely to respond?
Just before he wrote a similar letter, without notes, and more than a week waiting for an answer, and the answer is only silence.

It is very possible it is a language problem.  The expected file path is not found in the Russian language version.

I expect Neil or someone from Support will see this and render assistance...;)

Please give them a little time.

Support has responded to the first ticket (and closed the second).  Please send back your response when you can.

Patience, sir....it may be difficult to replicate...;)

Neil always responds.. sooner or later. |-)

Please note that replying to a support ticket before receiving a reply from technical support will reset the activity counter on the ticket.

This moves your ticket to the end of our incoming work queue and delays our response.

Something so far without visible results.
Nothing drastic.
I wonder if he even runs on Windows XP?

We have tested on XP and are unable to reproduce your issue.  We are still looking though.

I had this problem once and I believe it was because of my text size settings. It seemed to force classic mode only and partially install my skins. try:

Right click on the screen

open properties

and somewhere in the advanced or appearance there are settings. I will boot back to xp later to see if I can recall what I did to correct this. Could be I reinstalled though, not sure honestly. But try making sure your xp settings are at the default before applying a skin. Hope it helps.

I just tried Normal, Large and Extra Large settings on XP. WB's continued to skin properly through several changes, so I don't think that is it but thanks for the suggestion, dt1.

XP Pro 32/bit. WindowBlinds 7.4 (99 x86)

I tried to remember what the circumstances were, no luck, sorry I could not help. If I get any suggestions, I will pass them along.

I do know I had issues with my skin Manhatten Night" in the beginning causing this due to the large open close and stop buttons or something in the skin. I somehow fixed it as far as I know, but wonder if you should remove your skins folder and , unload wb, reboot, if working properly then, reinstall wb skins one at a time to see if the problem is in a skin pack. Any chance you are using my skin!!!!Okay, good luck.

Nothing works, and others have tried to add skins to the program, there is no improvement.
Aaron Klenk also silent and did not offer. It seems that users Windows XP program does not work, and he Aaaron Klenk not know how to solve the problem, because it's pretty much remained silent.

Detsle, I did not bother looking at you profile to determine your location on this good earth. However, you may not be aware that on November 22nd 2012 Thanksgiving was celebrated [it is a national holiday here in the states]. Most companies besides retail, were closed for 4 days if not more. I guess what I'm getting at is, on November 24 Zubaz made you aware they have tested on XP and have been unable to reproduce. He also reported they are still looking. Give them time, it may be an isolated issue to your specific configuration which I can only imagine it makes it more difficult to analyze. The fact that you are the only one reporting this issue is a clue that this may be an isolated issue. I had XP running as my primary OS up until 8 or 9 months ago. I never had this issue. Give them time dude...

It is very possible it is a language problem.  The expected file path is not found in the Russian language version.

I am assuming you can read English fairly well. If this is true have you tried changing your system language to English to see if it worked correctly?

If you can, give that a try and see what the paths are.

It may not be practical for you to leave it that way but it may help narrow the problem down.

P.S. WindowBlinds, running on XP Pro. taken yesterday. Works fine.

As I thought, it was because I have the My Documents directory is spelled in Russian.
I put on a virtual machine operating system, English, and set WindowBlinds and all the threads at once appeared to apply.

2) http://s08.radikal.ru/i181/1211/29/ea2613750483.jpg

Now only question is, how do I put it all on a Russian operating system.
We see the need to look for ways around the program, and to change them in the registry, as I understand.

Well, at least now you have better information as to the cause and support should be able to replicate the trouble. Give them a bit of time. The release of Windows 8 has them pretty busy, but I'm sure they will help find a solution for you.

Good luck. :sun:

Urrrraaaa))) I won WindowBlinds program. B)
Sam decided everything, I'm happy.
Well, in general, is located below, the solution of the problem.

Instructions:

The program does not understand the Cyrillic alphabet, and therefore does not see the way to their defaults.
To fix this requires correct way.

1) Run the Registry Editor (Start -> Run -> regedit), find two lines:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Stardock \ WindowBlinds \ WB5.ini \ Installed

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Stardock \ WindowBlinds \ WB5.ini \ Installed

2) Whenever we see this:
C: \ Documents and Settings \ All Users \ Документы \ Stardock \ WindowBlinds \

3) Change to:
C: \ Documents and Settings \ All Users \ Stardock \ WindowBlinds \

4) Close the Registry Editor.

5) Next, go to the folder C: \ Documents and Settings \ All Users \ Документы \ folder and find there "Stardock", cut it out.

6) Open the folder C: \ Documents and Settings \ All Users \ and paste it there, our folder "Stardock"

7) Restart the computer.

After the restart will be used standard theme Windows. Do not worry.
Open and install WindowBlinds skin you like.
You're done!

I had the same problem, also my add or remove programs wouldn't work (value creation line failed 415 or something like that) I tried this and everything works fine now:

Open the following:
C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Luna
double click the file names "luna.msstyles"
a window should open, press ok
