I'm curious about map sizes. I'm playing a large map and it says in my savegame map size 7x6. I don't find the large map particularly large, it get's crowded real fast and I start close to the other A.I's (given that I have 8)
Is my memory failing me but wasn't the map in E:WoM much bigger?
i'm working on some map changes that i may release. It adds 2 more sizes huge and gigantic with gigantic being the largest size possible without throwing a warning upon game creation. Huge is (10x8) and gigantic is (12x8). I'm also working on some terrain changes to go along with the map sizes.
I actually found that you get more map for your money by adding more stamps to the current sizes and reducing the minimum amount of water. There is way too much wastes space on the stock map generations.
please do LazyWacko I would love to have a little bit larger map.
@Seanw3 how do you eliminate water? Custom map?

The bigger the better in my opinion, althought my computer seems not to agree..
This is what i'm doing also, i'm lowering map gen chance of things like water, moutains, chasms etc and upping the chance for things like forests, fertile lands etc in the terraintypes. So in the end regardless of map size there should be more playable land.
we need more huge and gigantic maps.
can someone point Brad to that?
