Re: A letter from Brad Wardell

and how much i loved War of Magic

It was nice to get an apology from a developer for a game that didn't live up to expectations. It was also nice to receive a free game which will. But i wanted to say, in case it hasn't been said enough, thank you. Thank you for Elemental : War of Magic. It was a great game and continued the fine tradition of turn based fantasy in a way i appreciate. It reminded me of nights long gone, Warlords II and the potential for imaginations to run wild as a lone hero explores dungeons and rescues fair maidens, all the while his kingdom facing eminent threat from hostile forces. War of Magic will always be a great game, in my opinion, and I do not regret purchasing it. All games fall short in some places, while going beyond the expected in others. War of Magic might have let some people down, but i very much enjoyed playing it, and i wanted to say thanks.

Also got the letter from Brad, also grateful!

I did not regret purchasing Elemental either, it gave me plenty of entertainment for the money which is more than i can say for at least 60% of the games i buy in general!!

i had the game from the first release and enjoyed it but all the version upgrades since then, so bemusing???! Every version upgrade i could describe as 'whack a mole'.... some good things and some bad things get knocked down then some new good things and some new bad things pop up, so on and so fourth.

Just wanted to echo the sentiments expressed. I liked WoM, and didn't regret my purchase, even if it wasn't quite what I'd expected. Giving us a copy of Fallen Enchantress, honestly, floored me and reminded me of why I feel Stardock is the last, best hope for gaming when so many other companies seem to be falling short of the promise they once showed. Thanks a ton, and stay awesome.

Thumbs up from here too.

I sadly did not have as much time with WoM as I would have liked, damn family, but that is true for all of my games... Sadly FE included. But once little buggers get little bigger, daddy will definitely look back into his long backlog of games to start/continue.

But that is beyond the point... I was shocked when Stardock declared handing me FE for free, and then sent very nicely worded letter from Brad as well.

I think my cynicism regarding gaming industry melted a little bit at that point, that there ARE people and companies who actually appear to give crap about other things but getting my money. Feeling I received recently when certain rather expensive game backfired on me badly due to horribly done ending...

Thumbs up Brad & Stardock, you have definitely made a loyal customer out of me. And yeah, you get my money too.
