In less than 24 hours, Fallen Enchantress will be released in its 1.0 form! I'm in a bit of shock just thinking about it.  Two full years of development. It's hard to believe how fast the time has gone by.

Around 1pm EST on October 23, the game will be released.  If you order it sooner, it'll be the last Beta (0.99) and it'll upgrade to the 1.0 version.

I went around the office today to interview more people who worked on the game.  Here's their story:

Ah, I guess there was no point in my uninstalling it last night.  I just assumed it would be like any other game where the beta and gold version would be incompatible.  I guess I should have known better.  Oh well...

Brad said about a month ago that wasn't happening.  Probably due to Steam not wanting to give free bandwidth to people who didn't actually buy the game through them.

Anyway, I just tried it, and Steam didn't recognize the key.

What time is it now? Where's my game? Whatdoyah mean if you have beta .99 you can just download to 1.0? I asked in another thread if we would have to redownload the entire game if we were keeping up with the beta and someone said YES! So, what's the deal?

I know it's not usual for Companies to give out sales numbers, but SD is not a normal company and I hope they can at least tell us whether FE has been worse/as/better then expected. Good Luck to them in any case!

Considering most of us will get it FREE I highly doubt the sales numbers will be very high for this version. Plus those of us who bought into the pre-release of the 1st one get a 2nd expansion for FREE also. ;) So sales figures aren't going to tell very much at all if anything for quite some time.

If you bought it from Steam, you have to get it from Steam.

If you bought it from Stardock or got it free from Stardock, you have to get it from Stardock (either Stardock website or Stardock Central program.)
