I knew this great and wise woman who posted an article that is no longer administrable so I am going to try and fill her spiked hills (hahaha) as best I can and revisit something that has always puzzled me too. As a classical atheist, I am not at all concerned about such pleasures as heaven or hell but am intrigued with the religious phobia concerning what they like to refer to as the religion of atheism. Common sense would have me believe that a Muslim thinks they understand the religion of Islam, Christians their NT and Christianity, Jews their OT and Judaism etc. etc. And strangely to a religion they think the other two are FUBAR, imagine that. Now this of course is no concern to the old typical atheist bitch … like me.  I have no horse in the battle of the gods and therefore have no favorites. So again ask those of such opinion; what is the religion of atheism?

There is nary a religious rebuttal that at some point doesn’t indicate that the atheist or their (professed) religion of atheism is the root cause. So I thought I would provide a post where such ‘wisdoms’ could be discussed. The first time I posted this same topic, I didn’t receive any reasonable examples at all; just a bunch of slathering insistence it was true. As a studied atheist, I would like to think I should at least know of such things but I don’t. So I have been waiting for the religious folk to explain this to me because they are the one using the words to denigrate the people. Religion is a collection of belief systems, cultural systems, and worldviews that relate humanity to spirituality and, sometimes, to moral values. So my first question would be “What does this stuff have to do with an atheist?”  An atheist, remember, is just a person who denies or disbelieves in the existence of a supreme being or beings. Not sure you can wrap that into some religion either?

The Catholic Church has intentionally made enemies of the entire world (in the name of Christianity and god) and the world had no say so in the matter. Disagreement with the church in any way is defined by themselves as heresy and the defiler is an enemy of god as we all must be??? The early catholics destroyed as much of original christianity as possible such that there wouldn't be paper witnesses to the corrupt debauchery those early Jews imagined for corrupting the philosophy of peace and care for the needy and not just for christians, how novel. But then Rome usurped Christian morality and we ended up with a catholic construct that is dissociated from reality, is morality bankrupt, and is devoid of useful knowledge and thus science too. It is a paperweight in the 21st century … unless a Leviticus worldview and lifestyle is what you really desire … for all of us.

PS – There is a lot of atheist stuff around now … if I only had a book to guide my every moment hahaha.

It seems as if the bogus 'Religion of Atheism' is huh, well that is a relief, whew. But just as a going away present, I will offer one more clip supporting the prospect that many things theologians see as religions like "secular humanism and atheism' simply are not. A religion requires a professed conviction and a mere lack of conviction for the real life existence of what we see as mystical characters and works professed without support doesn't qualify.
