Why do our units have to counter attack their own side?

So Jack and John have been friends for years even join the army together.

During one battle Jack who has been beguiled takes a swing and due to the magic accidentally hit John.

John looks to his friend and says "Jack as much as I like you having been friends for years you know the rules.  Because I have a sword I must now hit you instead of saving my counter attack for that spider."

John has always been a jerk to Jack, thus John had a knee-JERK reaction. :digichet:

me·lee

1 [mey-ley, mey-ley, mel-ey]
1. A confused hand-to-hand fight or struggle among severalpeople.
2. Confusion; turmoil; jumble: the melee of Christmas shopping.

The interface we see is very orderly, but it is merely representational. In truth, melee is a wild event leading to friendly kills. Adding magic to melee is a recipe for chaos.

exactly.  people who train to fight will sometimes just react as they've practiced, especially if their adrenaline is way up and they're already in fight mode.
