[Request] Can you please remove the hit point penalty for races?

Specifically, the Amarians(Pariden) and the Wraiths(Resolin).  They have a hit point penalty of -1hp per level( which is a -50%) and is balanced out with mediocre bonuses.  This causes me to never choose these two races as choices, as all other options are superior.    I don't think it's need as balance, as their racial bonuses are among the weakest and they gain no special troops to balance it out.  (Resolin's troops are from faction traits, so I could create a race of "men" with all those altar demons, spiders, and have henchmen, a +10% exp bonus AND not have a -1hp per level.

I support either this or buffing the Amarian and Wraith blood traits enough to make them worth considering even with the health penalty. Please don't make it another case of "if you're of race X, you can train units of type Y" - I think there are enough of those already, and one of those doesn't make much sense at all (specifically, slaves - only Quendar get slaves, regardless of the faction trait of Slave Lords. Why? On the other hand, the descriptions on the Bound Spiders and altar demons imply that only Wraiths can control them, yet these are not race-specific units, to the best of my knowledge.).

The problem is the penalty is too steep.  It was ok when base hp was higher, but now it's too much.

It should be a percentage decrease.

You're right, the spiders and demons are not race specific.

I agree that the hp thing makes them even weaker.

The whole race balance is bad.

Amarians, Wraiths and the Thartharians has no (as of 0.9) unique abilities, besides the small bonuses.

The +3 initiative and damage for small armies is not a small bonus in the beginning, and a good beginning is extremely important.

Tarth blood is quite fine.  A significant advantage, and no disadvantages.

Maybe it could be changed to -1 hp/ 2 levels. That would match the overall 1/2 as many hp per level that was previously changed.

The Wraith race is still the requirement for Hallowed Rite, which is a very nice ability (which provides 3 mana for each thing the unit kills).

Well, Frogboy is doing a series of AI versus AI.....we'll see soon enough if Pariden or Resoin make it on the list. ;)

Maybe Pariden should get -1Hp per level, but +2Hp per earthshard? That could be a nice balance. It pushes them to really go after shards.

Why not life shard? For balance I think +1 per life shard would be sufficient.

Agreed...if any shard, it should be the life shard.

But then Pariden would also need a spell to convert shards to lifeshards.... :pout:

Would have to be life/death shard due to custom faction.

A percentage penalty is probably the simplest method, and already exists in the game (wounds)

This plus a massive boost to the wraith ability. So it becomes 2 health per unit killed instead of 3 per group killed, or just 20% health drain on attack. That way Wraiths and Amarians become unique instead of generic.

It would be nice if it was per unit killed.  I will admit that I find Paridens shard bonus very nice and I hadn't noticed the hp penalty on them.

O_o, I think paridens shardbonus is rubbish, I would never get enough earthshards to even the score even a tiny bit. I get way more levels than I get earthshards, and the tiny boost to resist and mastery is also pretty useless.

On average I am at the point where I am not putting new posts up about this, since I feel we talked it over tons of times and agreed that balance was bad, might just be me agreeing though :)
