To easy to win with a very basic method.

Ok. I love this game. However I thing the "smear merchant" works to well. I can win an entire election or hardest setting with JUST a ton of smear merchants and NO campaigning. Every race I just build a load of PC gaining HQ's and I keep buying smear merchants for 1 state. In the next to last week I can be losing 62 to 38 and then it starts. I send out all my smear merchants from their base in TX and boom I won!

LOWER the effectiveness of the smear merchant.

The game is a joke for balancing, all you have to do is be Obama and only run smear ads... idk if it is an overwhelming liberal bias from the developers but it is a lot harder to win as Red, it's like the map is beefed up for Democrats from 2008 which was a record turn out meanwhile all signs are indicating this is not 2008, I know too many people who weren't even going to vote this election cause they were so discouraged by their guy last time. 

 

Go on the steam community page for this and the fan base is pretty Red too and annoyed with the balancing, I've had people messaging me about how to overcome, I wrote some guide, someone even went so far to post this on my profile

I support Romeny that was the 1 democrat victory I played as Thomas Jefferson. I got like 15 republican victory pcitures check them out

I would not know emfyo as I always play as Romney and I never loose.  Again its easy to win when you can turn states with 2-3 "smear merchants"

Although I'm a Democrat, I happen to agree the map is too imbalanced. There is a way to fix that. 

Go to Computer,Program files x86, Steam, steamapps, common, TPM2012 ,data, english, maps, USA, left  click on a state [example Arkansas] , open with note pad and then edit.

 

Bear in mind that a lot of these states [Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, West Virginia] do have a lot of registered Democrats. The reason why they happen to vote Republican [on the presidential level] often is that they are conservative Blue Dogs.

Really, my complaint  with the operatives is that I can't find the War Hero operative anywhere, even though his characteristics are in the game files.
