[1.00 UI] Still hoping for movement trail to be shown before actually moving

Maybe Brad could hire someone from Ubisoft since HOMM does this really well.

But what if when the Ubisoft employee reached Stardock they implemented an always online DRM system instead of a visible movement trail?

Could you live with yourself?

Don't go out from the point. The truth is the current movement system does not allow a mistake, a personal route or a calculation from the turns that will take to move to a far place. I prefer any system than the current.

And simple if possible, like first right click to set the path, and a second right click to confirm the movement.

There is an issue in Tactical battle: a unit moves to a selected tile, and stops movement, even if it has movement points left. I think we should be able to use the movement left if no other action is done (like attacking or spell...)

I think pathing (with multiple waypoints, double-clicking etc.) will probably be saved for an expansion or post-release patch...

I hope so. I find it very unfriendly to the player, no need to say compared with many other games that have different solutions.

I don't need multiple waypoints, just a confirmation that the unit will move to where I decide, and if I mistake, I can redo before the movement is done.

Now a mistake means to loose 2 turns, 1 turn to come back and other turn to go to the chosen place...and if the time is essential (like being under attack) that mistake means another game loading...... very frustrating

Yes please this is a stupid omission.

Unfortunately I believe the lack of this feature is probably due to problems with the pathfinding system, and won't be easily fixed..

Agreed. I'd love to see the estimated time to travel to various locations. Probably not an easy task, but one that needs to be addressed. If I send a unit somewhere and fate depends on whether or not it can get there in time, I need to be able to estimate it. Otherwise, I might send a different unit or try another strategy.

Ya, this is one more thing that makes the game feel unfinished.

unfinished

^There's the word I've been looking for.  This launch feels rushed, and I think a few more weeks of polish would be more beneficial to the company than a few more weeks of quarterly sales.  This is of course merely an outsider's perspective, and the creatives at Stardock have already proven that they definitely deserve my confidence and support in whatever they do with this game.  The train hasn't even left the station yet and even if it is a bit shaky, this ride is already a blast.

I'm just afraid that the ride is a blast only for those of us who are intimately familiar with the train's quirks and peculiarities.  There is a fun ride to be to be had, if you manage to figure out how not to scratch yourself on the rough edges, how to work the handle of the bed compartment, where to find the linen, and how to turn on the nightlight.

So well put.  I do not feel our fears are unjustified.

Now that 1.00 is out, what are the chances of getting this added to a future patch?

I absolutely agree with this.  I remember asking for it several times in WoM too, as did others.  I'm rather surprised it didn't make it into EFE.

The way movement paths were implemented is completely pointless.  You either need to see them before you move like Troj says, or don't bother with them at all.

For comparison, after having played Civ 5 and Xcom with well implemented movement paths, it's hard to imagine playing those games without the paths shown at all. In addition to the path, they also highlight the areas you can move to in one turn, a feature that has been around for quite some time and was one of the things that made the first Panzer General so accessible and successful.
