And your little dog too!

Ugh.

So I’m making the monsters move at a different phase than the players so that they do a better job attacking one another.

Pain.

I have it working.

But there’s a cosmetic problem. When the little guys run back to their spot, they get stuck with the running animation. We’ve all seen cases of this before.  And we had stomped it out. But this change brings it back with a vengeance.

So I’m still working on it.

Stay on target!

Also, if your patching process is anything like mine... there is a difference between "stomping out a bug" and putting a band-aid on it.

Line spoken by the Wicked Witch of the West in the movie:  The Wizard of Oz , to the heroine, Dorothy, and her terrier (dog) Toto:

" I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too! "

An American-ism meaning that not only will the person (or thing) being addressed be punished, but their conspirators will also.

(Source: the Wiktionary; because I figure Kongdej, or another of our non-american friends, may ask:      WTF is Frogboy talking about?)

This should fix the problem for monsters vs AI. But then will the same problem occur for AI vs AI since presumably all AI players move together in the same phase, no?

Monsters only get to move 1 per turn. the AI players get to move as much as regular players so the issue is not as prevalent or not there at all.

Interception is the problem and from what i have seen in ai games it's there with ai to ai as well. I think with the time left fully serialized turns is the way to go, it should allow the majority of these problems to be fixed, that or go full we-go where the player plots his moves hits end turn, the ai and monsters plot their moves and then there is an execution phase where all the interceptions bring up a combat window, this would mean putting in some movement prediction algorithms but that should be less work than trying to figure out all the current problems with this hybrid simulataneous turn system.

I just hope this above any other problem gets fixed before release.

I'm still up.  I figure while I'm messing with this, I should take care of that annoying backwards walking thing.

Maybe if you got some sleep you would realize there is no point in mastering how to walk backwards.  ^_^
