[Bug] Henchmen and Sions denided perks (.983)
When trained at a fortress they do not get their level up perk.
When trained at a fortress they do not get their level up perk.
Still? I thought this was fixed. This is a serious bug, especially if you get level 4 units out of the fortress.
This is still the case. Agreed with you Tuidjy, it makes it so henchmen and sions are better off being trained at a conclave, especially if you get a few unit-buffing enchantments on said conclave.
Yes I found this bug the first time I played altair back in 0.982 and it's extremely frustrating
I wouldn't say it's extremely frustrating, as long as it's only a single level difference. With 3 traits right off the bat, I don't feel too cheated if I don't get a trait at level 2. But more than that is a fairly serious problem.
Why not allow all Henchmen to start at Level 1 at these places and then be levelled up to whatever advanced level the town has provided? So it would be like the Experienced Sov Profession, except it would apply to Henchman at Fortresses.
Or, at the very least, give one choice of trait for every two levels. So a starting L2 Henchman would get one free trait choice, and a starting L4 Henchman would get two free trait choices. If Stardock considers it too strong to get three levels-up for starting at L4, I think one trait choice for every 2 of starting level, so L2, L4, L6 (if it's possible to get that high) might be acceptable. After all, it is accelerated training that the fortresses do - maybe not hero training.
I'd rather have Henchmen not get any levels from fortress than lose a perk from a level.
Me 2
Those first few levels doesn't mean anything anyways, its like killing 5 wolves and its all made up for ![]()

That could work. After all, fortresses would be focused on units rather than champion-types, so it could make sense for Henchmen to always start at L1.
Beat me by a second!

The only thing that concerns me is then Altar would have no real reason to use a fortress, especially with the Accuracy boost next patch.

Maybe give a boost to Enchantment essence boosters for each extra training level above 1 (starting level above 1), but only for Fortresses? So a Fortress producing L4 units would produce L1 Henchmen with +1 Defense for each extra training level over what is received from Aura of Might (so if 3 essence, +6 defense), +1 Initiative for Aura of Grace for each training level above 1 (so if 3 essence, +6 initiative), Aura of Strength (whatever it's called, the HP one would give +6 HP for a 3 essence Fortress) and the Fire Aura would receive +6 Fire Damage for a 3 essence L4-unit Fortress. Regular units would start at the greater level as well as the boost to City Unit Enchantments.
But you would only get the extra bonuses for Fortresses if you have the spell cast at the time of training completion. So if a particular spell is not cast at all at the time the training finishes, then they don't get a bonus for that spell.
That would make conclaves more important than fortresses.
Since conclaves get +1 essence at level 3 (I never pick the other 2 choices) and that means 1 more enchant that boosts the unit.

EDITED MY PREVIOUS REPLY (#12) to be clear by "level" I meant "training level above L1" (Fortresses only).
