Request: Option - Disable the taskbar transparency

Hi,

Microsoft has remove the transparency of his windows. So I prefer the option 'Disable the translucency' in the Style menu of Start8 configuration.

This looks strange together with the taskbar, because the desktop taskbar is translucent.

Thanks.

Ignore what I just typed. Yes, the taskbar is translucent but not when using AeroLite:

Go to c:\windows\resources\themes\
Copy your .theme file someplace else
Under the key [VisualStyles] change the pointer to Aero.msstyles to point to AeroLite.msstyles
Double click your .theme file

Now your Taskbar is no longer translucent.

Hi disaster007,

it is not so easy, like your description. I didn't use a default theme then I've change the menu colour. There for, I have save my design.

But where is my design or where can I find my theme? Ok, google helps and I found the folder.

Here you can find your own themes:

C:\Users\"Your Name"\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\

I have edited the theme file, the taskbar isn't translucent longer. But the colour between Start8 and taskbar is now different.

The taskbar is now much lighter as the start menu. It seems that the 'Automatic colour selection' of Start8 doesn't work with a unique coloured taskbars.

Well, I've tried to find the correct colour by the option 'Pick colour'.

I must say it's really circumstantial to realise a non-translucently taskbar with colour correction through my way.

I really hope Stardock can help. There is a automatic colour problem with a non-translucently taskbar.
And it would by nice when Stardock could create an option: 'Disable translucently taskbar'.

The next update of Start8 includes an option to make the taskbar solid.  It will then match the solid version of the Start8 menu.

You should not edit your theme files as you will get unexpected behaviour as shown in your screenshot.

You are right, the screenshot above shows the behaviour with the default theme of Start8. Together with the other two Start8 themes, the colour function of Start8 doesn't work anymore. The right side of the start menu remains white.
