5 bucks for a beta?

ok all of a sudden my start 8 stopped working and says it's expired, already 1 boo right there. Then I go to update to the lasted beta and the try it free button doesn't work and the only thing that does work is a 5 dollar beta link, really, charging for betas? I might be willing to pay 5 bucks for a RTM app, but for a beta? when there are free alternatives such as ViStart  or Classic Desktop

 

For shame stardock. After years of paying the 60 bucks for your object desktop I am not going to be resubbing if this is how desperate you are.

As mentioned above you can try it for 30 days by which time the final release will be out, or buy it now.
