Lol I have trouble finding my SD cards at times around let alone a transparent glass chip.

Still looks interesting. I have to wonder how durable this is case you drop it or something. Even thought it goes on being super temperature and radio wave resistant.

Does look kind of fragile, doesn't it?

It's write only (write once), which is why it's for archives and such only.

Only needs a microscope to access... imagine what havoc one tiny piece of lint would wreak, or just a bit of a focus problem? Would have to be hermetically sealed and shock proofed...and it's etched...so one shot per piece.

Wonder what a cat could do to it.  ;P

I think it's an idea which will need some development... but in principle? Could be great.

This does seem to be any important part of a lot of sci-fi movies, so I aprrove.  Now I want my hoverboards and lazer guns.

This is just the first step.  Next another awesome team of geeks (or nerds) will improve the storage density even further and produce a practical laser based reading system.  Then they will move onto holographic storage in cubes of the material capable of storing all the information ever produced by human kind in a 4 by 4 inch cube.  This will of course be perfect for the early quantum computing devices that become self aware as they seek to duplicate themselves and rule the universe.

I for one welcome our new computer overlords...

and yes, there will be cake (best to get there early)

backs out of the room slowly...  *_* *_*
