A few small issues with 0.95 Beta 2 that need correcting!

Just installed the latest build 0.95 Beta 2 and I am so happy to see almost all of my requests that I ask for have made it in this new build.

However there are a few small things that I hope wil be corrected.

1. Under the Power Options for example if I make "Switch User" the main button it should then be removed from the other list menu showing the rest of the Power options.

This is how its done on Windows 7 Start menu

Here is a screenshot of Windows 7 Power Options menu for example

2. Also when I hover my mouse cursor over the Power options menu and then move the cursor over "Computer" button on the right menu it will not let me right click it until I left click somewhere on the right menu first.

In windows 7 start menu there is no need to first left click somewhere on the right menu. "Compuer" gets highlighted as soon as you move from Power Options menu to any button on the right menu.

Can this be fixed?

3. Again please add the option to have a tooltip that says either "Start8" or "Start" show when you hover the mouse cursor over the Start8 button.

4. When using "Highlight Newly installed programs" can you fix it so the programs are not highlighted anymore after you have launched them?

5. Can you add an option to change the order of the buttons on the right menu from top to bottom?

6. Also would like an options for right side menu cascaded Control Panel > (menu)

Stardock if you can fix and add my remianing wishes I would be greatful and "Start8" would be just about perfect in my book! :)

Thanks again and really hope to see most of if not all of my remaining wishes in a near future build of Start8! :)

2. why would you even click the power menu if you're not intending to log off, reboot, or shut down anyways? I don't see how this is an issue

3. Seriously? Why? I never saw a purpose to the little tooltip over the start button

4. Yeah this would be nice, or the ability to disable highlight newly installed programs altogether.

5. I think this was already requested, but I second this.

Hi Star64,

Just becasue you your self has never seen a purpose for a tooltip for the start button does not mean other users don't have a need for it. And that's why I asked for an "Option" meaning if you don't want a tooltip you don't need to use the option.

Also as far as clicking on the power options menu and not intending to log off, reboot, or shut down? Well sometimes when clicking on the power options menu I change my mind and need to click somewhere else on the start menu. But anyway who cares why the fact is I am reporting this because I think its a bug or glitch and I bet its something that stardock can fix pretty easily. Stardock just needs to make the mouse cursor always have focus or something like that.

Have a good day :)

A want is different than a need. :)
Why is this an issue for you (and for other people)?

Well I have a family member who is a little "Slow" and he may not understand what the button in the buttom left corner does. But if a tooltip displayed "Start" or "Start8" it wouild help him understand better what the button does.

I relize this may sound crazy to some of you but trust me when your dealing with "Slow" people little things like a tooltip can help.

Thanks

After installing latest Build 0.98 Beta 3 I am glad to see that Stardock fixed issues 1 and 4 from my feedback :)

I just wanted to follow up on my number 2 issue from my feedback in the first post and wanted to make sure you understand what I was talking about.

I want it fixed so when you drag your mouse cursor from the Power Options Menu over to say "Computer" button and you only have to right click 1 time to access the right click menu where the Properties item is.

This is how its done on Windows 7 start menu as I ma sure you already know :)

As far as my number 3 issue on the list I can see that it looks like Stardock does not see a good reason to include a "Start" tooltip and I will just have to except that I guess. Even though I still don't see how having just an option for it in the settiings could hurt anyone?

As far as I am concerned the more options Start8 has for the users the better! :)

Having said that I want to thank Stardock for creating what is for sure the best "Start menu" by far for Windows 8!

And thanks for using users feedback to help improve Start8!

Have a great day and looking forward to trying new builds of Start8! :)
