Fallen Enchantress Beta 5 Released

Yes!!! Right in time for my lunch break

checked back at just the right time

Beauty ! 

As I noted just now in the Derek's  "Fallen Enchantress 0.98 Changelog"  (the first URL high-lighted in Island Dog's Original Post, above), I found the Beta 5, available, about Noon today, Mountain Daylight time. 

The download worked flawlessly; taking only about 3 minutes and 15 seconds to download, and perhaps another 2 minutes to Patch.  That would make this the quickest, smoothest, Update that I have downloaded, up to this point.  Nice!  

Upon running it, my attention was immediately arrested by the New (or restored ?) Opening Animation:

     "The World of Elemental is devastated ... broken by a War of Magic ..."

Looking Good !!   

Thank you so much for getting this out.  This will be something I play alot as I start my 30 day trip out in the oil field tomorrow!!

I am having a good start in the beta 5. 2 wolfs! One just died though damn it! Wow bite is kinda powerful but then again there is lots of small monsters around. But I am worried that bigger monsters will one shot them... Oh well they do there job just fine. 

Yeah wolves are basically glass cannons. Best to use your other units to tank and pull in your wolf for the finisher.

The awesome bite ability is what made me start to appreciate the initiative timer on the left of the tactical battle screen... when my wolf had two moves in between a monster's actions, that was the time to hit and run...

Beta 5 does not require being online to play anymore. Good! (but I hope the beta does not leak now...)

Save on beta4 work in beta5?

@CyanPile - I would not try old saves. Go for a new one.

I always wipe my directory in my documents to clear old custom units, sovereigns, saves and custom factions to be sure, I recommend other people doing the same.
and I recommend an option for the updater to do this for you.

Had the AI Yithril faction rush me with some old testing units once, where I found a bug to put the traits from a juggernaut onto trained units, so there came a piece of trained units with 3 traits: +40 hp trait, double damage trait, and overpower trait... THOSE HURT!

question. On what going to the "Details" of the city can I remove construction, the city received a "lv up"? In theory, such buildings must not be removed

...less then 5 minutes into play and crash.....

I have my crash. Even when I'm not doing anything (just left the game for half an hour and went for). But I often persists. The main thing that they occur rarely and only in strategic mode.
Another glitch. Which did not exist. If he created the main character. Then try to add it to create a game. Then in the game, he always race Altarian. His avatar is random (chosen from the list below).

У меня бывают crash. Даже когда я ничего не делаю (просто оставил игру на пол часа и ушёл по делам). Но я часто сохраняюсь. Главное что они происходят редко и только в стратегическом режиме.
Ещё один глюк. Которого раньше не было. Если сам создаёшь основного персонажа. Потом пытаешься его добавить в создаваемую игру. То в самой игре у него всегда раса Altarian. И его аватар случаен (выбирается из списка уже существующих).

Since I've changed to a new computer between the Beta 4 and this one, I had to run the full install.  I thought we were using kthe Elemental key for activation but it is not working for me.  What have I forgot? or doing wrong?
