The local NBC affiliate's newscast which followed included a segment on the continuing anti-American unrest in the Muslim world 'triggered by an internet video' (I'm paraphrasing again).

My wife, an Obamaphile if there ever was one, understands how dishonest this is.

(I live in a 'neutral' home, one with no net influence on any election one way or the other. )

As to Obamaphiles, I found this very interesting.  I play golf 2-3 times a month with 3 Obamaphiles.  Always interesting to hear how they cling, and how it's all about how bad Romney is.

You know, I'm not sure how to vote yet.  I'm not really happy with Romney, but I am not happy with Obama.  There must be a third party candidate, but that would just split the Romney vote... is it worth it to vote for a third party?

Yeah, that's what you say every four years though.

Anybody who can look at Mormonism and believe in it is not fit to lead a country.  Some might say that for Christianity as well, but at least our holy book is the same as it was thousands of years ago.  Since the 1850's, they've had to edit theirs 4000 times.  It was said to be a perfect book but it has spelling and grammar issues.

Joseph Smith's revelation included polygamy but they have backed away from it.  They believe their 'perfect book' trumps the Bible, which would be fine if the Bible actually was corrupted and the Book of Mormon didn't have all those mistakes... then maybe somebody could believe it and be rational.

Also, the Book of Mormon speaks of many cities in the Americas that were never there, or at least, that there is no archaelogical evidence to support it.  The Bible has had over 25,000 archaelogical discoveries which prove that it is historically accurate.  0 for the Book of Mormon.  But they say the Bible has been corrupted.

A long time ago, somebody tried to say the Bible was corrupted and created his own book of what was the true religion.  His name was Mohammed.

So, at it's most basic level, we are choosing between which brand of Islam we want to allow to rule us.

I don't believe it is Islam.  But in the end it doesn't matter.  We can only serve one of two masters.  Period.

But, being an evangelical Christian at heart, (that's right I said it!) I do understand the faith concern. 

I love my Mormon friends, of whom I have many.  But I believe they are misguided in their belief (which works out ok because they feel the same way about me).

There are many many things I respect about the Mormon culture, but doctrine is not among them.

Since there isn't a strong Christian running for office, I have to look at other, more secular things.  While I don't agree with Romney on everything, not even close, I get more checks in his column than in BOs.

Which goes to my point...gov job.

My husband has a DOD job, non-active duty.  I'd hate for him to lose his job because of cut backs, but you know what?  We'll be ok.  He's an educated hard working man....it's not the only job he's qualified to do.  He believes in serving his country.  Always has.  He'll do it this way or another.

We're at a BIG research base...lots of labs and innovative weapons, aircraft, etc.

If the sequestration thing happens, business will pretty much grind to a slow tempo, if not stop outright.  Just the threat has contracts not being renewed.  People are preparing for the worst, and some have taken 50% paycuts (contractors). 

The people here that we know working for the DOD all believe Romney will cut as much or more from the budget than BO because we HAVE to get the budget balanced.  Most of my husband's friends don't want to lose their jobs, but are resigned to taking the hit.

So before the axe drops new training, or classes to become more marketable.

It's gonna be ugly.
