Why don't my armour upgrades show up?

Hi Guys,

I keep researching hull and armour technologies like Tri-strontium and Kavium (sp?) but when I check my ships, they show no points for armour. How does one get armour technologies to be incoporated in ship design?

I've read the manual but don't find anything specific on this point.

You need to actually add the armour modules to your ship designs, or specify a focus on armour for your auto-designer.

That must be TA.

In DA, one does the ship design manually, component by component, and the new tech stuff shows up as options when you complete the research.
