Hmmm......Broken game. Perfect. Got worse.
EDIT: Now my game wont enter the main menu. Great.
If someone would kindly link me the default TA ShipConfig and ship template folders, i would be very happy.

I'll just stop saying that i hate double posting, but could someone please help me out?
Hi
Is this what you're looking for?
X:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Galactic Civilizations II - Ultimate Edition\Twilight\Data
There's two folders there called; 'ShipCfg' and 'ShipTemplates'
That's not what i meant, by 'link me', i meant could someone compress then upload their's?
but never mind, i went ahead and did a fresh install, it seems that the ships lost all their assignments and crashed when upgraded from the shipyard.
EDIT:
ok, my FRESH install is crashing after the ToTA intro video.
the debug file says nothing about what happend(that i can tell) so here is a windows problem signature:

and my debug:
Haha, funnily enough that's exactly what I thought you meant in the first place, but decided that 'link me' meant 'navigate you to their location on the hard drive' instead, LOL
Anyway, glad you're sorted now, but pardon me for asking; you seem to be having an awful lot of problems with GC II and your computer judging by some of your posts e.g. out of memory crashes etc.
Are you using a laptop by any chance?
I repair PCs and I've seen these corruptions occur quite often when the main hard drive is failing intermittently. Perhaps you could do a check some time? Or you may possibly have some dodgy RAM, but that seems less likely.
HTH anyway?
i am using a 10+/- year old PC, its a Gateway produced E-machine that is nolonger supported by the company.
It has Win. Vista 32x and 2 Gb of RAM.
AMD Sempron 3100+ Processor
Nvidia Gforce 6100 Video card
94.3(devided into 82.1 and 4.2 GB parts) HDD( ~30.0 GB free[idk whats eating all that space...])
and much more stuff that works 0.005% of the timeas of last year.
the PC's case fan is mounted to the OPPOSITE wall from its default position by a screw and a zip tie.
I have no clue what mother board i have though.
or my RAM type.
EDIT:
found out what my E-machines model is:
and is not as stock as i thought, being that it was somehow DOWNGRADED from the given stats.
EDIT2: now im confused.
it says it was build for Windows XP, but mine has a Windows Vista sticker on it, and (they got ripped off) some other stickers, even more than the shown one has.
EDIT3:
it really says XP on mine, I just looked at it for the first time sense last year...
Well, a 10 year old PC if it has the original hard drive in it could well be the problem.
Good to see it has 30GB free though. I was thinking it could be down to fragmentation, especially 'pagefile' fragmentation. That very often causes weird crashes if the system drive is badly fragmented. But, if you still have 30 GB free, that's unlikely, but still worth checking.
Have you done a fragmentation check at all recently? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-vista/Improve-performance-by-defragmenting-your-hard-disk
Also, have you done a RAM check? http://www.memtest.org
Do a quick disk check... http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Check-your-hard-disk-for-errors
I use a non default program to defrag my system and registry, also my PC tends to blue screen every other couple of re-boots(never to serious).
Right...
Quite a few things then. The BSODs are a very bad sign! Of course Vista is a POS anyway (IMHO), but are you at least using Service Pack 2. That will cure a lot of system crashes. edit: I see from the debug file that you are, so...
Also, your sound driver is really out of date. You can get those Realtek sound drivers from Filehippo.com.
Your Kalypso GC II Ultimate I think is the default DVD one from the Space Unlimited Collection, IIRC? I got the same one here.
That is also a few patches out of date. The latest version is 2.04.17 direct from Stardock which you can get if you register the serial there.
I got it cracked.
i hated having to do it, but the gold demo gets boring.
i am looking to buy it though.
Well, not sure if you are interested, but I tried to get my son interested in these sort of games, but never managed it. Lately, we had a big falling out anyway, so that's that.
Long and short is, I have GC II Ultimate as a gift on Steam which never got sent of course. You can have it for a quarter of the asking price there if you want and you'll be all legal and what not.
PM me if you want the details, but I think ultimately (no pun intended) you're going to need to sort your PC out one way or another first, before blaming the software you install on it.
As tempting as that is, i would need an interest in steam.
i just dont like it.
You and me both. I dislike intensely, the fact that any games you buy from there have no second-hand value at all and I'm unlikely to purchase any more games from Steam in the future.
That aside though, Kryo stated recently in another thread that Sins of a Solar Empire 'Trinity' (not Rebellion) can be bought via Steam and the serial used to register at Stardock, where you can download the latest version there instead. Steam not required at all.
I assume that the same applies to GC II Unlimited. All you would need is the Steam serial and an account here, then you don't need Steam thereafter. You'd probably need to confirm that though.
Whatever, did you get any further in working out what the problem with your PC might be? RAM or hard drive, or fragmentation or...?
I think i did something wrong after the install, before i removed GC2UE i compressed my ToTA data(removed ships folders), music, event music and mods folders.
I think the mods folder is out of the question though.
as this is before the main menu screen even appears.
so it could be a major error in the .uif i have.(which worked perfectly before.)
EDIT:
perhaps it could be a corrupt screens file in Data?
if you would be kind would or anyone else to upload one...
I think you're missing the point here, that if that .uif file did get corrupted, then you have a MAJOR problem with the PC. Most likely RAM and/or hard drive failure. Even one 'bit' of corruption will cause havoc.
You need to get some file verification programs like HashCalc or MD5Sum etc. so that you have some sort of reference to go by to start with. Quickpar will also be useful, but won't give you an absolute value to begin with, but will detect any files that later become corrupted because of the faulty hardware.
Under the circumstances, it wouldn't really be ethical to upload files on Stardock's official forums to help you out with your dodgy version. Be reasonable. In any case, until the PC is sorted out, it wouldn't really help.
This thread will likely get closed very soon anyway.
You don't really have the right to whine about a broken game when you stole it.
oh shut up, it worked fine until recently.
A legitimate copy of the game would most likely resolve some of your issues. Until you do obtain one, we have nothing further to say.
