Where are the PATCHES for Elemental: War of Magic

from Elemental Forums


I can grab a copy on the discount bin pretty cheap.

 

The game sounds great and I know they are releasing a new title (same game), but I am a penny pincher.

 

$5 vs $40 is a big difference. If I like the old game I can invest in the new version later.

 

I have looked throough the forum and am impressed with the player based community support, but for the life of me I can't find a link to any patches.

 

My only reason for holding off is because I want to know the patches are available and just as important that they fixed the worst of the problems.

When you purchase the game you get a registration key. After registering the game with Stardock at https://www.stardock.com/accounts/register  you can download the latest version of the game from their website at https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

As for the quality of E:wom I can't say much in its defense. It remains a poor product. 5 dollars may be just about the right amount for it. It is not going to give you a hint of how good Fallen Enchantress has become because they are far apart both in spirit and execution.

I like War of Magic, I played it a lot. As of version 1.4, which is the latest, it feels like a complete game, and it's pretty stable. It's well worth the $5. There's also a cool mod for it.

You can't register at that link as the game is not listed.

If it's not appearing there, shoot a mail to [email protected] and they should be able to handle it.

I found a work-around for the entire registering issue with the original Elemental.  

 

1. Uninstall the gamestop app - back up your games if you want to keep them, I didn't care but I cannot recall if they go bye-bye or not.

2. Install the version of impulse that comes with elemental.

3. It's ok if impulse downloads the application update (you can't stop it) but DO NOT restart the application.

4  Register Elemental through the impulse application

5. Let impulse update.

6. Let your patch download and install.  It does take some time to apply the patch so be patient it is not locked up.
