Features
- Removed all tile yields. Cities may be founded whereever, so long as
- Cities may not be founded within 20 tiles of each other.
- City promotions have been removed.
- Any city improvement may be built more than once per city. Therefore,
- City specializations are determined by the relative acreage of studies, workshops, and archivists you build.
- Outposts are automatically built on any tile that your sovereign visits.
- All event notifications output to the DOS console instead of the Fallen Enchantress window.
- City enchantments, both positive and negative, can only be cast on cities not owned by the casting player.
- Dynasties have been reinstated. Children now come of age at approximately 1,000 years.
- Added the War Staff, (25 blunt attack + 100 crit chance)
- Seagoing pirates have been added, but they are unable to scale cliffs. Or interact with any landlubbers.
- Unit stats have been restored to STR, DEX, CON, INT, etc.
- Added the Cracked Sash, which gives 0 armor and may only be built by Monsters and Ruffians.
- The entire world is now one enormous Wildlands, and spawns the quest "win the game."
- Entering a chasm or chasm edge tile will kill a unit, because it is now falling into a bottomless pit.
Fixes
- Rivers now no longer have to be continuous.
- Mountains are now completely invisible.
- Alt-tabbing starts a kernel panic ("Blue Screen of Death")
- All content formerly in XML is now hard-coded into the engine.
- Fixed a bug allowing the human player to win the game.
- Fixed a bug where rivers would sometimes flow to the ocean instead of away from it.
- Electoral count of Wisconsin restored to original value.
- Enemy units may now move through each other at will.
- Units gain unlimited movement points if their end destination is a city.
- The "Rats in the Ruins" quest dialogue never closes and gives an infinite amount of whatever reward the player chooses.
Balance
- Ophidians are now invincible.
- "Token of the Friend" now spawns a "Torax, who Grinds Mountains to Dust" instead of a dog.
- Fireball does 10,000 damage, but may only be cast once per game.
- Usefulness of Water spells eliminated.
- Life and Death shards (but not Life or Death-tree spells) eliminated.
- Doom Club now does infinite damage. It is still available through the "Rats in the Ruins" quest.
AI
- The AI is now no longer capable of casting spells or using ranged weapons.
- All AI unit designs have been removed.
- 3 new AI unit designs added:
- Observer, armed with nothing but a telescope
- Forward Observer, armed with a telescope and a catapult
- Foremost Observer, armed with a War Staff (see above)
- The AI will surrender immediately after declaring war.
- The AI is now always too busy for diplomacy.
Cosmetic
- Voices for all sovereigns have been replaced with new recordings from Hulk Hogan
- All unit deaths are accompanied by a wilhelm scream
- Pixel-shaded animations have been replaced with 8-bit pixel animations
- All clothes removed, unless necessary to conform to ESRB guidelines.
- Pirates (see above) now make a "Yarr!" sound each time they move.
- New unit stats (see above) are competely hidden from the player.
- Shots from ranged weapons are animated as coming from a random unit.
- Pioneers say "Zug Zug" when clicked.
