Endorsements

Hi guys. I attempted to add an additional endorser [Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence] but the system crashed. When I attempted to play the game and clicked on the special interests tab, a label saying error popped up and switched the game off. Fortunately, I managed to restore the game to what it was previously, but I still want to know if we could add endorsers. We could modify customized candidates and we can add policies to the platform, why can't we add endorsers?

Could it be I should have added two endorsers so that it will be balanced equally between the two parties?

You'll likely have to replace existing endorsements to add any new ones. It's possible there may be a hack to add more, but nothing comes to mind.

what do you mean by a hack?

Thanks for replying and keep me posted.

Yeah at the moment you can't add a new endorsement normally, because there is only the room on the panel for the ones you've got, also there is a few other bits you'd have to change in the xml file to add another working endorsement. But seriously it wouldn't work without accessing the main code. I could probably put together a hack, but imho the number of available endorsements is the best for balance, the more endorsements there are, the less they matter if that makes sense; because they wouldn't be worth as much.

Try editing an existing endorsement instead of creating a new one like Cbray said.

What does the word "imho" mean?

If you have time I would appreciate a hack so I could add two more endorsements -one for the GOP and for the Democrats.

Thanks

I will try to find the time to look into it, but it is unlikely I can put anything together at the moment, It would need some really deep modding, more than I've done so far.

But I'll see if I have time. I'm currently working on 3 complete conversion mods: UK, Middle Earth and Skyrim. and I have other Mods that are planned. Add to that, I am currently preparing to move to university in September. The kind of modding your looking for is quite time consuming, but I will try my best :)

Thanks. Where, when and how did you find the time to be so skilled with computers when you are a politics and law student?

I'm actually only just going in to my first year of University, and I have changed from Politics and Law to Political and social Sciences, because the course focused more on what I'm interested in.

As far as I'm concerned, this "modding" is very simple and basic compared to the lengths modders go to in other games, I have no where near the skill level required that some modders have to introduce new aspects into games, such as introducing new weapons into games.

My general rule is, Go looking through the files of the game, and Know, that the worst you can do is make the game not play, and have to reinstall it. From there on its just trial and error.

On a related Note; a beta of my UK mod will be up within a few mins of me putting this up, if all goes to plan. Be aware that I have to write the instructions on how to install it aswell, but it will be up today. It is a beta, and I have disabled a few features until I have them integrated, and have not included any characters (infact I've had to remove the default characters), so you'll have to make some characters.
