Is it possible to close the space after removing user account picture in the start menu?

I want to remove the space that is created when you remove the user account picture in Windows 7's start menu.

Is it even possible?

I hope that made since, here is a picture from the thread "How to get rid of User Pics in the Start Menu"

Notice the space; I would like to move "Documents" up a little, or 'Doc' in this case.

Completely new to SkinStudio... I don't want a silly account picture; ever notice how Linux doesn't do this?

I would also like to remove it from the login screen, but I'm not sure that is possible.

Hi. I'm Doc, and that was my thread and screen shot.

The skin is vStyler's creation, Alluminate.

To alter that space, I'd suggest you ask vStyler (pm him) if that's even possible. If vStyler doesn't answer, Lightstar or 2of3, Vampothika or Xiandi (all Master Skinners) could probably answer that question. If none of them answer, you could pm Neil Banfield who created the programs.

*or Jeff Bargmann.

Look, Detroit! I made my first Hybrid!.... also, was sleepy.

Sorry, guys. ;)

Doc, Did Neil get married?

It used to be Neil Banfield, I thought.   X|

Volspay, the start menu graphics would have to be altered in a graphics program, then recut and imported back into the skin via SKS.

although I'm not mentioned above as a go to person I believe that while you can remove the user picture the pixel allotment remains as hard coded. But then not being referred to, I could be incorrect. (guess only a master skinner could know)

As gmc2 said the top pixel distance is hard coded into Windows 7 to accommodate the user icon.  If you try to change the spacing distance from the top it cuts off the items in the panel itself, including the mouse over image. I tried adjusting the top spacing distance and removing the user icon here with the existing images and it really is just not possible.

Any chance Stardock could remove that top text margin spacing distance if a user icon is not used in the skin, (hint, hint)?  :)

^Thats just "testing" it and it works great! I'm waiting for some new computer parts to arrive in the mail before I start skinning my own theme, but really... I'm just happy I can remove that stupid silly account picture and close the space.

I'm not sure if I will be able to remove the picture form Windows login screen; my ultimate goal is to have a much slimer and simpler login screen (thinking Ubuntu/Xubuntu linux inspired login), but I'm not sure thats possible :(. I suppose I could just disable logging in... besides, if a theife breaks into my house they are just going to take the computer and hard drive whole not log into it.. haha

ehh, thanks anyway.

Win7 pops up a different icon in the user pic space when hovering over certain start men items.  You figured out a way to stop that, too?

What did you do to fix it Volpsay? Sure would like to know. :)
