Possibility of Mods?

I'm pretty new to The Political Machine, and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. There are things about it that I wish I could dig in and customize, though.

Communities have sprung up around making mods for games like Minecraft, Civilization, The Elder Scrolls, and plenty of others, which increase the replay value and popularity of the games.

Is there any chance that TPM could be opened up to the modding community? Imagine user added content such as additional models and (if you want to take a page from TF2) hats for the candidates, or even more special interest groups and other in-game features.

There's a lot you can do to issues, endorsements, candidates, and interviews if you go poking around the .xml files.  I'll check on whether models can be added easily.

What do I do when I want to improve the candidate's statistics with the xml files? What about the issues? Could I actually add an issue?

I would appreciate clear instructions as I really love politics and history.

Good to know you guys aren't as stingy with files and their modification difficulty as some developers are...I think I'm gonna try to create a huge Fan-Made Expansion for us PM'12 fans...

How would you go about adding events to the game, or adding endorsements that affect a state's awareness or approval?

Modding the Game is Very Very easy as I have discovered so far, I'm working on a total conversion to UK politics. Its coming along well except I cant work out how to edit the map. I'm Happy to make a tutorial for anyone who needs help.

Notepad++ + paint.net + DesktopX = most of what you need to change all sorts of things in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Political Machine 2012

I'm using regular paint (and gimp 2.6), regular notepad and not got DesktopX yet. Its really easy, just struggling with working out how to change the Map, think I might be missing something, Any hints?

Looking through the state-specific xml files, I noticed that there is code for age, race, income, and gender. How do these variables affect game play?

Hi. I think I need a tutorial for modification. I can't download the candidates I want to download, and I want to make stronger candidates across the board. I also like to add issues. Can you help me? What will the tutorial entail?
