Long time single player looking for online match

Been playing Sins since original retail release, and all the expansions up until now. Strangely, never had much interest in multiplayer 'till I got rebellion. Now that I am looking for games through Steam, I've found it hard to find games to join in ICO. Is it just a matter of making friends here and then meeting online?

Anyone willing to play a long time comp stomper online? I'm sure I'll get my tuckus kicked the first few matches, but I know the game mechanics well.

Just look for 4v4 and 5v5 open games. Or host one yourself. There are usually enough people interested in those to get a game going. Quality can vary as there's often quite a mix of skill levels. Those games are always a scrum of random people forming teams once all the players are ready (usually by captains picking or top v bottom or something to try and balance it out) - if you prefer to play with a set team it's rarer and would involve getting people here on board I guess. It's far easier to just hop on to an open game online though. Most of those games are played on fastest speed settings so it doesn't take 5 hours to complete a game.

If possible try not to let them do top versus bottom. Usually they do that when a few of the better players in the game know they'll be on the same team that way. You tend to get the fairer teams if the two best players are team captains, then take turns picking. As they won't recognize you they'll probably assume you're a noob, and you'll get picked last, but thats how it works.

So basically just like elementary school, always get picked last for dodgeball.
