Multiplayer Connections

Hello everyone,

I have looked through some of the documentation on getting our game to work but I am unsure if the problems we are having are related to our locations.

I live in the Netherlands and am trying to play games with my friends in the United States.

I have forwarded my router ports both 6117 and 6112 we tried starting a game from both his IP address and my IP and neither connection works. It waits for a bit...... then says Server Disconnected

I also wanted to mention that I never see any games on ICO ( I just assumed that people who played the game were all  into rebellion and had moved away from the original trinity series ) but again I am unsure if it is a region issue.

I was hoping one of the more technical savvy people I see on these forums might have some advice or insight.

Again I live in the Netherlands so I was wondering if there was some reason my region was making it difficult to connect to people to play the game.

So you are on Trinity?  Well, idk how many people are usually online in that, but probably not very many, sorry man...

Some people who I know aren't in America and (presumably) play online...

Thanks for the advice Seleuceia, the evening I posted this we did get the game to work by using Ironclad Online instead of using the multiplayer option and connect by IP address. This was the way my friend always played the game and was surprised it did not work as usual.

I did get to play a game that night and was looking forward to trying again this evening. I checked and while I was able to chat with a couple people on the trinity lobby any games I found were all unavailable.

I decided that since I already had trinity and stardock has a good deal on rebellion for players who own it I said why not... just get rebellion and get involved where all the players must be.

So I buy Rebellion, download it with steam and now I can not even connect through Ironclad Online... It does not even give me the chance to log in it just pops up a "Disconnected From Server" almost instantly.

I will keep digging for solutions but seriously a game that is multiplayer should have a much more intuitive connection.

Have you checked your firewall settings? There have been times when I can join a game but not host depending on what network I'm on and their firewall settings or the firewall on my own comp not allowing it.

Actually you might just have bad timing...Steam in it's infinite wisdom rolled back Rebellion from v1.03 to v1.02, and as such ICO is temporarily unavailable until Steam stops being dumb (well, less dumb, anyway)...should be fixed within the day...

If you still have problems when the game properly re-updates to v1.03, post here...
